Chargers linebacker Shaun Phillips was already being sued in one case that has the potential to disrupt his 2010 season. Now he’s the defendant in another suit.
Phillips is being sued by a 54-year-old woman who says he hit her at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas in 2008, the San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting. In the other suit, a security guard claims he was punched in the face by Phillips in April 2009.
Phillips did not face criminal charges in either of the two cases. In the Las Vegas incident, police described Phillips as “very cooperative” and the woman who accused him of assault as “drunk.”
The woman says Phillips elbowed her in the head to keep her off a dance floor. She seeks damages of more than $10,000 for injuries.
