Jason Campbell has a wrist injury too

The “stinger” that knocked Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell from Saturday’s game against the 49ers wasn’t even the most serious injury he suffered.

Raiders coach Tom Cable revealed that he’s more worried about an injury to Campbell’s wrist that required an x-ray and MRI. ESPN’s Bill Williamson said Campbell will “surely be rested” all this week and wondered if he’d be back for the season opener.

Campbell’s likely absence from practice will make it important for Cable to pick a backup quarterback between Bruce Gradkowski and Kyle Boller; it figures to be Gradkowski.

In other Raiders offense injury news, starting wideout Chaz Shilens will be out another 2-5 weeks after undergoing knee surgery. He looks likely to miss a regular season or two. Starting running back Michael Bush will undergo surgery on his thumb, but could still play in the opener against Tennessee.
