We mentioned Friday evening that Maurice Jones-Drew’s agent debunked a report from NFP that claimed Jones-Drew underwent knee surgery. (Perhaps our former colleague Aaron Wilson was simply conducting a social experiment.)
On Monday, Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio double-debunked it.
“No,” Del Rio said. “No, has not happened, is not necessary. He’s working, rehabbing, strengthening and gearing up for the regular season.”
Jones-Drew will sit out a second straight game of preseason action to rest his sore knee. He’s also expected to sit out practice with a lateral meniscus injury.
