Texans waive 17 from roster, place Anthony Hill on PUP

We mentioned the more notable Texans cuts and roster moves the team announced on Friday. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle has sleuth out the rest of the players to be placed on waivers that the team has yet to announce.

The following players were waived: fullback Jack Corcoran, tight end Derek Fine, linebacker Isaiah Greenhouse, center Brett Helms, offensive tackle Steve Maneri, cornerback Mark Parson, linebacker Will Patterson, offensive tackle Cole Pemberton, safety Nicholas Polk, defensive tackle DelJuan Robinson, defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard, offensive tackle Adam Stenavich, receiver Derrick Townsel, defensive tackle Mitch Unrein, center Chris White, receiver Bobby Williams and safety Torri Williams.

The team also placed second year tight end Anthony Hill on the physically unable to perform list, knocking him out for the first six weeks of the season. They waived/injured running back Jeremiah Johnson; he could wind up on the practice squad eventually.

We believe this brings the Texans down to the 53-man roster limit, when you factor in Brian Cushing’s suspension. They are the second team to do so, after the 49ers.

30 to go!
