Titans waive Blount, add Rolle to practice squad

The Tennessee Titans’ roster moves today included bringing back a Rhodes Scholar and saying goodbye to a punch-thrower.

The team has announced that Myron Rolle, the Florida State safety turned Oxford student, has been signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers. Other players signed to the Titans’ practice squad include: DL Hall Davis, WR Dominique Edison, CB Pete Ittersagen, C Kevin Matthews and LB Patrick Trahan.

The Titans also waived a player whose reputation from his days in college isn’t quite as sterling as Rolle’s: Running back LeGarrette Blount, best known for throwing a nationally televised punch last year when he was at Oregon, has been placed on waivers, as has linebacker Stanford Keglar.

The Titans have also been awarded two veteran linebackers off waivers, Tim Shaw and Patrick Bailey.
