Jets act like "frat boys" when female reporter visits practice

Though the NFL Films cameras are now gone, potential distractions remain at Jets practice.

A female reporter from TV Azteca was present today.  Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation tell us that the Jets responded to her presence by “acting like frat boys.”

Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post made reference to the situation via Twitter on a couple of occasions.  Hubbuch said that defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman was reportedly overthrowing players in drills so that they could “accidentally” run into her.  Hubbuch also says that at one point linebacker Jason Taylor volunteered to take reps in the drill.

Hubbuch described the scene as “hilarious,” but that sentiment wasn’t universal.  We’re told that the reporter went into the locker room after practice, and that some of the players behaved like construction workers and/or prison inmates.  [UPDATE:  Apparently, some construction workers don’t appreciate the acknowledgment that the industry is well known for producing countless examples of men whistling and hooting and hollering at attractive women.  Maybe the complaints are better directed to their colleagues who whistle and hoot and holler at attractive women.]

One source said that defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was the loudest of the bunch, at one point exclaiming “this is our locker room,” as if to justify the conduct.

Some believe that the reporter appeared to be embarrassed, to the point of being close to tears.  Other reporters found the behavior of the players to be juvenile.

  1. …some of the players behaved like construction workers and/or prison inmates…
…like “Miggs”, in “The Silence of the Lambs” ??

  2. Any particular reason you lump construction workers in with prison inmates in terms of conduct, Florio? Use quotes if someone else said it, it looks to me like you’re casting judgement over a group of people by insulting a separate group.

  3. Funny how a team that’s never won anything for years and only got in the playoffs last year when teams laid down for them and didn’t play their starters….is getting in the headlines in the papers, on the internet, and the TV sport shows as if they had won 4 or 5 Superbowls in a row.
Just goes to show you what a big-mouthed coach can do to get all kinds of attention without having played a game.

  4. A sexual harrassment lawsuit would shut these guys up real quick. Any other workplace and she would be getting a large settlement and quite afew guys would be out on their ass
I kinda liked the Jets bluster, but if this is how they represent themselves, I now officially hope they lose every game. Rich famous athletes acting like they have never seen an attractive women. Complete disgrace.
I hope film comes out. Stay on it Mike

  5. I’m tired of reading about the Jets. They are the most over-rated and over-hyped team in the league this year.

  6. Of course Kris Jenkins was the loudest, he’s in the closet. Have you ever heard that guy talk? Obvious sugar in his tank.

  7. Roger Goodell’s gonna love this…
Rex Ryan and the Jets players are great ambassadors for the game
Of course compared to most New Yorkers their behavior is actually considered top notch

  8. What was she doing out of the kitchen anyway?? hahaha…..
As much as I despise the Jests this is a male sport with “frat boy” mentality. If she can’t handle it she shouldn’t be there…..There are many stories of female reporters knowing how to play off these situations and then becoming sorta accepted for their ability to go along or take such stuff with a grain of salt.
A great one – forget who the female reporter was but when a player opened his towel and exposed himself to her asking “Do you know what this is?” She responded “It kinda looks like a penis only much smaller” Badda bing boom !!

  9. Peyton Manning sees nothing wrong with this.
(you know, as he’s forcibly teabagging a woman)

  10. Never seen a bigger bunch of Dbags. Can’t wait to see them get their asses handed to them and then hear what excuses that fat slob dishes out.

  11. What a bunch of trash, I’m starting to see a trend here. Trashy coach, trashy players, playing in a trashy state.

  12. As a former frat boy, I consider than an insult.
We might have done stupid things (well, that’s a pretty sure bet), but we generally knew how to behave around ladies. After all, the generally recognized goal was to NOT run them off.
There’s no excuse for grown men behaving that way.

  13. Anyone else notice how CornFlorio is attempting to take the place of Tony Dungy as the moral voice of the NFL?
My opinion, if she can’t handle it, go look for a new job!

  14. Suspensions need to be handed out. This opens the Jets and the NFL up to a sexual harrassment law suit.

  15. Acting like construction workers? What the hell was she doing in the fellas locker room? Do male reporters go into a female baseball teams locker room? Helllllllllllllll NO! I’d bet if an attractive male reporter was (allowed to go) in the locker room with a female sports team the females would say and do things that are ”inappropriate” but nobody would care. DOUBLE STANDARD!

  16. This Jesters squad is one of the biggest embarassments the league has seen in decades.
Once they start off 0-3, will we finally move onto some teams that actually matter?

  17. The NFL needs to grow up and act like adults. Roger Goodell cares about the players off the field behavior. He should care as much about practice field and locker room behavior as well.

  18. This team will be a major disappointment. Surprised by Jason Taylor. Rex Ryan is getting a free pass from the media. You can’t have leadership without character.

  19. If true, then the Jets players acted like asses. But dear Lord, get reporters out of the locker rooms. Isn’t there any privacy in this world.

  20. I’m really not gonna shed a tear when the Jets don’t live up to the hype. I have never seen a team with 0 rings talk so much crap and be such Prima Donnas. I believe the humbling process will start this Monday.

  21. She brought it on herself.. They were overthrowing the ball to run into her and then she goes into the locker room after practice? She was asking for it obviously and she should be happy it was after all the J.E.T.S JETS JETS JETS that were whistling at her.

    There’s a guy that never get’s laid.

  23. HOW DARE YOU IMPUNE THE HONOR OF CONSTRUCTION WORKERS BY LINKING THEM WITH PRISONERS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED FLORIO!

  24. This article is a prime example why certain reporters who shall remain nameless get labeled hacks.

  25. Kris Jenkins probably can’t get a date, that would explain his eagerness towards the first woman he sees

  26. That is what I would expect the team has no leadership the coach is an ahole the owner is a pompus ass
And the team has a history of lossing they have to enjoy because come monday night woody the pecker and coach that ate christmas are going have to eat Raven
The props wanted the spotlight of MNF as they play there first game at the new Giant Stadium we can all watch as they burn up under the bright lights and national viewers

  27. Immature and undisciplined – players and coaches. Who thinks that translates into winning?
If I were the owner of the Jets I be ashamed and down in the locker room raising hell. But then again, maybe he’s just like then. So it’s a no class organization.

  28. Florio, I had no idea that construction workers were the same thing as prison inmates. How about you think about what you are saying before you just spit it out there? I don’t know if you know this, but I will tell you. Construction workers are kind of important. Do you know what today is? Yeah, do you know who is rebuilding that mess? Construction workers. I am not defending what the Jets may or may not have done, but think about who you are grouping into your dumb analogies before you do it. Moron.

  29. “behaved like construction workers” …. just what the hell does that mean? in one swoop Florio offends 50% of his readers……..OH MAGOO!, you’ve done it again!

  30. A bunch of young men act like fools in the presence of a smoking hot chick? I’ve never heard of such a thing before!
However, it’s up to their big, fat loudmouth of a head coach to tell them to knock that shit off and get down to business.

  31. If a male reporter when into a female players lockeroom everyone would have a problem with it. If your a woman and you go into a male teams locker room then you get whatever you deserve short of “unwanted touching”

  32. “Jets act like “frat boys” when female reporter visits practice”
The Jets team acts like everything and anything
    Except professional

  33. It’s presumably the same reporter they trot out in a wedding dress during Super Bowl media week…yeah, I can understand why this was totally insulting to her dignity.

  34. Can’t blame them. Being a foul-mouthed, juvenile, idiot is how you get on Rex Ryan’s good side.

  35. Wow.. They should really be ashamed of themselves. As an athlete myself, I would tend to believe that the professional leadership in that locker room is completely absent.

  36. When you got your job only because of how you look, what else do you expect? You’re taking a job away from someone who actually… went to school for that job. Someone who is most likely much more qualified, and probably just better overall.

  37. Dungy could pounce on this. If your coach acts like a foul mouthed chub, you can expect the players to do the same.

  38. @ncoolong
In American culture, a popular stereotype of construction workers is too have very vocal, often crude reactions to woman. The same can be said, albeit for a different reason, for prison inmates. I am sure there are both prison inmates and construction workers (and probably frat boys) who treat woman with the upmost respect, but when describing a scene to your audience, using a very cliche, and well known stereotype is an easy way to get everybody on the same page in the visualization.

  39. How does that differ from you dropping your pen to get a loot at Rosenthal’s legs? Hypocrite!

  40. Gee I can’t imagine a bunch of young 20-somethings (who get paid to pump up their testosterone and hit things) acting juvenile when a cute girl is around.
I am so shocked right now. This is hard-hitting and important coverage right here.

  41. Broadway Joe taught them well. He set the standard when he slobbered all over Suzi Kolber and made an ass of himself on national TV a few years back.
All this chest pounding by the Jets is going to end very badly.

Wow, you must be one of those whom thinks along the lines of “Hey, she was ASKING to be raped, wearing clothes like that.” or “Big Ben was fine locking her in a bathroom and forcing himself on her…she was drinking, after all.”
    Scumbag.

  43. Call me old school, but unless they are strippers, I don’t want women around my football. I am not the NFL who has to kiss ass with broads to help ratings. Kris Jenkins is a great leader! If you disagree, then don’t forget the coupon when you get your old lady’s femine products…..

  44. This reminds me the story about Rex Ryan having the qb coach throwing extra long passes by the dunkin donut stand and him chasingthe balls and eating all the inventory. He has taught his team well.

  45. I kinda get it. This is probably the first time a female has shown any interest in the New York Jets or its players.

  46. no surprise that the jets would do something like this if the report turns out to be true. But not to worry these guys will be attending their phony bible studies and blabbering about how jesus led them to victory.

  47. Florio it sounds like if people wanted to find you back in your College days they could have found you in the Locker Room.
So many of these guys you look up to are as dumb as stone. Most have little or no class and that is why many when they get out on the town are Punked the way that they are.
So sad to see these wash outs years later behind a folding table in a WalMart trying to remind people who they were at one time and trying to have them hand over $10.00 for an autograph.
You know the old saying, you can put a suit on a Pig but it is still a Pig.

  48. So there is what 60-70 guys in a room that is “theirs” so to speak, and a woman comes in and everyone is supposed to change for her? F that. When in Rome toots, this type of whining guarantees you will only get a job covering womens sports.
Good luck getting any type of coverage while your working the WNBA.
    WNBATALK.com……hmmmm

  49. “Call me old school, but unless they are strippers, I don’t want women around my football. I am not the NFL who has to kiss ass with broads to help ratings. Kris Jenkins is a great leader! If you disagree, then don’t forget the coupon when you get your old lady’s femine products…..”
You’ve never woke up next to a women in your life.

  50. …so you’re saying if you gather 53 twenty-something millionaires to play a violent sport before tens of thousands of cheering fans they might act immaturely in the locker room?

  51. I hope she caught the Jersey trash douchebags on camera and files for sexual harassment.
4 game suspension for half the team. It would serve them right.

Big difference between guys acting like Frat boys, construction workers with a female reporter than Rapistburger. Sad you cannot see that

  53. You’ve gotta be kidding me Florio. This reporter is famous for this stuff. She does it all the time. She craves the attention and she wants the players to do this stuff. It’s well documented.
Just google image “hot tv azteca reporter” and theres pictures of her with the most ridiculous outfits on interviewing players from teams like the steelers, cardinals, colts, and even one with her in a wedding dress being carried by a patriots player and hanging all over the players.
She is more responsible for the behavior than anyone else in this situation. This is a non-story. More of a publicity stunt by her than anything else. And you’re being tricked into helping her.
p.s. – but seriously, google image her, shes probably the hottest reporter ive ever seen, if every female tv reporter (Kelly Naqi excluded) dressed the same way on the sidelines the world would be a much better place

In American culture, a popular stereotype of Black people is that they all eat Watermelon and Fried Chicken. That doesn’t mean it’s ok to propagate those stereotypes by repeating them.

  56. So what was it? Frat boys, construction workers or prisoners? 3 tries at being clever makes it kinda sad…

  57. What cracks me up is that the majority of the people defending the jets here, saying “she deserved it”, are the same people who were/are ripping Roethlisberger for his situation. Do you realize what morons you sound like? Basically what you’re saying is, that it’s okay to treat women like shit as long as it’s in the right environment. If you still defend the team, you’re a worthless POS.
I don’t have high hopes for my team this year, but I can’t wait until the jets crash and burn with a worse QB than Cutler.

  58. Just a bit of advice to the female reporter…… do not drink anything, or let them offer you something to drink. Most likely it will have some kind of date-rape drug in it.
Oh wait that is only in Pittsburgh…. Sorry NY

  59. Zeke Mowatt sees nothing wrong with this.
First thing that popped into my mind, but I couldn’t remember the guy’s name.
    What an asshole.

  60. Good thing it was the Jets’ locker room and not the Steelers’. If she had been visiting the Steelers’ locker room, she would have probably been raped by Big Dumb Ben.

  61. This headline should read “JETS AREN’T GAY”. Because, let’s be honest… you want a headline that surprises people.

  62. Weird usually the Jets DB’s hands are all over guys, other teams WRs that is, so I just figure they were you know — how’s Dan Hampton put it Brokeback cornerbacks.

  63. I always like reading the fan comments for humor and good points made, more than the actual articles themselves. This one another fine example.

  64. yeah
i’m sure fat faced juiced up dough boy
thug blacks really turn on a classy spanish girl
Now I am sure she would let Sanchez shit on her though

  65. Easy there pats fans, I remember a worse incident in the 80’s in Foxborough. Not that said incident excuses the Jets behavior. Is this this the only way they can come in contact with an attractive woman? … they represent Jersey well. The giants should be embarassed to share the same space.

  66. Hey lets slow down; first off there is a back story no one is even talking about, this is the same reporter who basically sexually harassed Tom Brady at media day a couple years ago for the super bowl. This woman dressed up in a wedding gown and said she was the real Mrs. Brady then had a number of players scoop her up like she was being carried across the threshold and had pics taken with them. Ok, I don’t agree with these guys acting like kids when they are professionals, but she is far from a professional herself just looking to make a name for herself! If you want to play the PR game to get ratings some days the little dog and pony shows bite you in the ass. Would someone ad some context to these reports so athletes don’t always get a bad rap………………were they childish yes were they messing with her because she is known for being a flufball sideline reporter absolutely!
TV Azteca I mean who has even herd of that channel? It sounds like Illegal Alien TV.

  67. Sounds like the inmates are running the asylum. I love Rex, but there are undeniable downsides to running a football team this way. If they win, it’ll be swept under the rug. But if/when they face adversity, the unrelenting ny media will bury the owner and coach for nurturing such a brazen and arrogant culture.

    ****************************************
0 rings? Um, hello? The Jets won Super Bowl III. Please learn a little bit about this sport before you go spouting off.

  69. i actually had to register just to say this. GET OVER IT. this is not the type of crap i come to this site to read. total politically correct garbage. what do you expect 20 something year old men to do. seriously. get a friggin’ life

  70. They are professional football players, not congressmen. Do you really expect them to ignore a hot woman on their sidelines usually laced with 300 lb men? If she wants a man’s job, covering a man’s sport, in a men’s locker room, then she needs to be prepared to have men classlessly gawk at her in their innate fashion. Oh and I’ve worked construction and the comparison is spot on, we tell her to grow thicker skin, maybe you guys should too.

  71. 1) Some of these guys ARE former and/or soon to be prison inmates.
    2) Construction workers, don’t have locker-rooms that females would be allowed to waltz into… its also a sexist comment since a good percentage of construction workers are women these days.
    3) These are the Jets, what do you expect, their fanbase acts the exact same way, with rapes known to have gone on during Jets football games.

  72. If I was a construction worker or prison inmate I would be offended to be compared to the Jets.
    Wasn’t Michael Vick both?

  73. Wonder where the Comish and side kick Dungy, will stand on this display of NFL chilvary. Didn’t some QB in Pittsburgh get 4 games for this kind of respect for the opposie sex.

  74. When they start letting men inside WNBA rooms then and only then will things be even.. Equal Employment Opportunity!!!!!!

  75. And this is a surprise to who exactly? The entire organization is low class, and always has been. It comes with being little brother to the Giants. Jets players and fans have always been know for juvenile immature behaivior. This is not news.

  76. She’s a grown woman and she knows what to expect in an NFL locker room. This ain’t the harlem boys choir….

  77. I’m sure she was asking for it. Did you see the look on her face?:)
Funny stuff from this go no where team. Keep it up boys.

  78. My god, how desperate can a guy get? This sounds like nothing less than harassment.
And I honestly can’t believe some of the filth here defending and excusing these actions. Just because she models doesn’t mean she deserves to be harassed. Like someone else point out, that’s just like saying a woman was begging to be raped because she got dressed up.

  79. KEYSHAWN22, just because theres a female in the locker room, that doesnt mean she needs to be sexually harassed!! Ignorant FOOL!!!!

  80. If this girl is widely known for being flirtatious then it should be looked into if she is complaining, we have all seen her in some interviews, and she does kind of hang on players, but that doesn’t give them the right to give her a taste of her own medicine, every guy wants a hot chick to hang all over them, no women wants a bunch of 300lbs men salviating over her making rude jesters, and im sure there were other things that went on that weren’t mentioned. (like everyone walking out the shower w/o towels. lol)

  81. The jets and their fans are pestilence. Of course they acted like assholes. They are the anus of the NFL. They aren’t going to win shit this year. And that might shut fatso and the dysfunctional jet’s fans up.

  82. I don’t think there’s any possible way this can’t be blamed directly on fat boy, fat mouth Rex Reed. That guy has zero class and the complete inability to even discipline himself (all you have to do is look at his obesity to know that). It doesn’t surprise me at all that his players would sexually harass a woman at the team facilities. What a joke. Just another reason why the Jets will always be the lower class Jets will always be second class citizens in NY.

  83. Anyone who says “if she can’t handle it, she shouldn’t be there” or anything like that is a complete jackass. She wasn’t meddling; she was doing her job. Do the Jets players act like dumbasses in front of good-looking male reporters? Like Chris Berman? Hell no, they don’t.
The Jets are slob-ass lowlifes. They act just like their coach.
Can’t wait to watch this 8-8 train crash and burn.

  84. Maybe she’s trying to get Mark Sanchez’ attention.
That said, anyone in her line of work, that looks like her THEN gets implants… well, it’s obvious she’s wanting the attention. Put her in a locker room, & what do ya expect.
I just don’t get all these incessant none stories. Whether it’s the new media, or sports media, these days their target market seems to be the braindead.

  85. Nice. Of course the idiots here comment that she deserved it.
I hope Goodell runs a formal investigation and suspends half the team under the conduct clause.
Of course Goodell would never do that to the Jets, unless he couldn’t avoid it.

  86. The Jets must be trying to become the most hated team in the NFL. They still have a while to go before they beat out the Cowboys, but this certainly narrows the gap a little bit

  88. It will be interesting to see how exuberant the Jets players will be on Tuesday when they are all in hot tubs trying to relieve the pain.
    GO STEELERS!

  89. I love how people are trashing new yorkers by saying the jets are “typical new yorkers”. They play in Jersey dumbasses!!! Know your sh-t before you talk it…also classy thing to do is trash new yorkers on 9/11…yea it’s been 9 years but I’m still not over the fact I lost people I knew and people lost dads moms and children. Classy comment by florio too about construction workers.

  90. I cannot believe some of the comments that I am reading here – not to mention the post from Florio – has political correctness become so dominant in American culture, that Americans have actually lost the ability to reason? By the post and some of the comments, it seems so.
The issue here is that she was in a men’s locker-room. A, presumably, attractive women was in a men’s locker-room. Anyone notice anything? She should have never been there. This is akin to one being incredulous that a Shark actually bit him while he swam among them with fresh bait tied all around him. He had no business being there just as she should not have been there. Can we please have some common sense? It may not be politically correct to recognize that a woman should not be in a mens locker-room while in use, but it is the truth. I am not a Jets fan, but this situation is not their fault; had they went into a woman’s locker-room and acted that way, then perhaps there would be point to this post, but they were in a men’s locker-room – in their locker-room. Bah, ignorance is still the only king in America.

  91. Useless story, Florio. Nothing’s going to come from this.
The funny part is, in spite of hopes from many here, the Jets are probably going to have a better regular season record, and at least get as far as they did last year in the playoffs.

  92. No one is going to fall for this

  95. Florio pulled a Dan Hampton twice; frat boys and construction workers. He’s next in line to say “I’m an idiot and I am truly sorry”.

  96. When Ray Lewis talks to the media next, he’ll answer a question about this. The question will be, “Why do you think she was staring at Rex Ryan?”
Ray Lewis would answer, “She probably has never seen a penis that small before.”
Seriously, guys, who out of all the guys on that team would she sleep with?
    a) Rex Ryan
    b) Rex Ryan’s fat
    c) the whitest black guy alive in Jason Taylor
    d) Rex Ryan’s son

  97. Next lame ass story. NY Jets run out of toilet paper at the practice facility.
NY Jets sign a 5yr contract with Oscar Meyer to provide hot dogs for the new stadium.
NY Jets practice facility has a leak in its pipes.
Ny Jets tackle Kris Jenkins was heard taking a crap this morning.
PFT should cover all the teams, yet the way it seems NY Jets crap is everywhere on PFT.
    Joke you homers

  98. attaway Jets
reminds me of the old Raiders…accept the females usually responded with phone numbers after the fact. LOL
seriously, though Rex may have to pay calling out Ray Lewis like that. MNF should have record ratings.

    **********************************************
He takes after his old man…it’s in the gene pool!

  100. one more reason why Rex will be gone in two years….No Discipline….. he will lose the teams respect in short order……..

  101. Good thing Roethlisberger wasn’t there or there would have been many more tears. Tears mean yes?

  102. I’d love to jump on the bandwagon and call the Jets losers but that TV Azteca is known for its HAWT reporters. What the heck…Jets are losers.

  103. What is this 1965? Women have been in lockers rooms for over 20 years now. It is up to the coaches to set the tone here. Can’t believe that Thurman was part of that, and that Ryan obviously encouraged it by not putting a stop to it. He is like his dad in so many ways, both the good and the bad Buddy.

  104. For the first time, I am on the Jet’s side here. It’s Ines Sainz for gosh sakes. And judging from high quantity of responses to a post that has nothing whatsoever to do with football, perfect 10 hottness will always make us act like construction workers or prison inmates. We’re just dudes in the end.

  105. What is a female doing in the locker room to begin with? When was the last time a male reporter was in a female locker room while the girls were getting out of the shower or standing around in towels?

  106. Where’s the big deal here? Isn’t there a Corona beer commercial where guys do the same thing?
    Pathetic.

  107. anti-jets article right on time….that trains never late!! What happened Florio>? Did Rex stick it to your wife?

  108. Antone here that says she deserved it or is sticking up for the Jets, obviously has never had a mom, sister, wife or daughter.
It is no secret that many of the people that post here write what they do for reaction from others or laughs but there is no excuse for this. This girl was there doing her JOB. Whether we agree she should or shouldn’t be in an NFL locker room, the league says all reporters should get fair access & be treated fairly.
The Jets acted like fools here & that management didn’t step in & stop this is deplorable. Johnson should be ashamed for his franchise, but is this really surprising given the horrible manner in which his daughter died?
Suspensions should be coming, that is the only way to stop this idiotic behavior. Anyone that thinks this is OK should see their daughter treated in the same manner, then comment how SHE deserved it.

  109. Even Baseball suspends people for acting like this- Remember the all star game tirade in the dug out before the game a few years ago?
C’mon commish, you are so worried about the NFL oversea’s image well how is this helping it?
And to anyone who thinks acting like this is OK, I’m sure you would just laugh it off if it was your Mother, sister, daughter or wife.

  110. women have NO business around sports anyway – and she was close to tears??!!. She proves the point. Go back home woman.

  111. women have NO business around sports anyway – and she was close to tears??!!. She proves the point. Go back home woman.

  112. you write hearsay to tarnish peoples names. did you hear who was the loudest? did you hear jason taylor ask to do reps? I heard that florio goes into mens washrooms at football games to stare at mens junk. from a good source

  113. Blackmagic: “Antone here that says she deserved it or is sticking up for the Jets, obviously has never had a mom, sister, wife or daughter.”
For the record, I would not want my mom, sister, wife, or daughter anywhere near a men’s locker-room while in use by men. Anyone that cannot see this has likely either lost their mind or has never been able to reason for themselves. Try seeing things as they are rather then through blinding rose-colored politically correct glasses.

Why don’t you try & understand this isn’t 1980. Women are doing all kinds of jobs that YOU may not approve of. That doesn’t mean they are “asking” to be harassed. Your comments should make the woman that gave birth to you proud.
No rose colored glasses here, just reality. She didn’t deserve to be harassed, no woman deserves abuse for her job. Statements like yours make excuses for abusing & harassing women. How that makes sense to you, makes NO sense. What YOU would want would make no difference to a smart, independent woman & just because YOU wouldn’t want her there, doesn’t give your neighbor justification for harassing her.
The thought behind your statements is amazing, I feel sorry for the women in your life.

Do you actually believe you can control every woman in your life & the career paths they pursue? Do you really believe that women deserve abuse for doing what the NFL says is fair & equal access? Women do not deserve to be respected when they are doing a JOB?
For the record, you sound like the rest of the JET FANS here that want to minimize this behavior with the reasoning that she shouldn’t have been there. Then claim others cannot think for themselves? Right.
In other words & in your view, she deserved that treatment since this is the profession she chose. She deserved that treatment since she was in a NFL locker room. Women deserve to be abused if they are in an environment doing their jobs that you do not approve of.
What a progressive thinker you are Tenebrous. How impressive. Bet the woman that gave birth to you is very proud.

  116. @BlackMagic suspensions? cmon dude. From all accounts I’ve read there were comments and cat calls, all of which should not be tolerated, but to suspend a player for that would be way too strong of a punishment.
A hefty fine and being forced to attend some training, etc. all sounds reasonable to me.
BTW, I think if it was a dude wearing super tight jeans like that, players would react (in a different way, of course..) and make comments too. I think players ultimately bear the responsibility for their actions/words, and should be punished, but reporters should be dressed a little more professionally than the jeans she was wearing.
And I’m not trying to defend the players at all, they should be punished.

  117. How about she wears what the other media members do then, or wait would she lose her “edge”.
She’s a sideshow and has always been treated as such.

She brought it on herself.. They were overthrowing the ball to run into her and then she goes into the locker room after practice? She was asking for it obviously and she should be happy
    “She was asking for it?”
    Seriously? SERIOUSLY?
I hope your mother, sister, wife or daughter never works with anyone who thinks it’s OK to react to a woman the way the Jets players did. It’s crass, it’s insulting, and it’s bush league. Aren’t these men professional football players?
Apparently just being present in the same room with some people means rules of civility are suspended, and women are automatically presumed to be “asking for it” and “bringing it on themselves.” For heaven’s sakes, it wasn’t a strip club or a bachelor party. The players’ behavior reflects badly on the team’s reputation, regardless of who their head coach is.

  119. smashmouthd says:
While your whole response was rediculous, let’s just hit the highlights of it, shall we??
    1. The Jets are former or soon-to-be prison inmates?? Seriously, take a look at many other NFL team’s rosters, then make this comment again. Did you notice there was no trouble from the Jets team in the offseason? FAIL!
    2. I would like to see the evidence of a rape at a Jets game. Or even the accusation of a rape at a Jets game for that matter. FAIL!
    3. I will end with one bit of truth: You are an Assclown!

  120. Blackmagic: “Why don’t you try & understand this isn’t 1980. Women are doing all kinds of jobs that YOU may not approve of. That doesn’t mean they are “asking” to be harassed. Your comments should make the woman that gave birth to you proud.”
    – The fact that I can think for myself and not drink from the politically cup of ignorance makes my whole family proud. She should have not been in men’s locker-room to begin with. I am not condoning harassment, I am condoning common-sense.
Blackmagic: “No rose colored glasses here, just reality. ….
    – No, you have a thick-blinding pair of rose-colored politically correct glasses on. What I am asking you to do is put them down and accept reality as it is, not as you think it ought to be.
-The reality is that women have no business in a men’s locker-room while it is in use. In contrast, men also do not have a right to a women’s locker-room while it is in use. This is not a complicated concept to understand. However, it based in common-sense and thus not politically correct.
Blackmagic: “The thought behind your statements is amazing, I feel sorry for the women in your life.”
-I feel sorry for you and your posterity; they will likely be taught to ignore reason and common-sense and instead accept politically correct faux reality. The ability to reason for oneself and to use common-sense to their advantage will go a long way in helping one grow and truly advance. To teach ignorance and promote mind-numbing political correctness can only have destructive effects on a child’s mind.

  121. Black-Magic: “Do you actually believe you can control every woman in your life & the career paths they pursue?”
    – Did I ever state that I believe I should have complete control over a woman’s life – or anyone else for that matter? No, instead I gave a non-politically correct answer to the silly proposition you made in defense of your position. However, like all politically correct automatons, you tried to use a fallacious conclusion in weak attempt to support your erroneous position; HERE you tried to argue that one either wants their mom, sister, wife, or daughter in a men’s locker-room while in use by men, or they want to control the lives of these women. LOL – are those really the only two choices? Bah, this is why political correctness fails common-sense.
    – Again, I merely responded to your asinine question. You asked whether I would want them to be treated that way in a men’s locker-room and my response was to note that I would not want them there in the first place.
Black-Magic: “Do you really believe that women deserve abuse for doing what the NFL says is fair & equal access? Women do not deserve to be respected when they are doing a JOB?”
-I do not care what the NFL says – they could say it is equal and fair to kick the poor and I would not accept that. That is the point of thinking for oneself.
Blackmagic: “For the record, you sound like the rest of the JET FANS here that want to minimize this behavior with the reasoning that she shouldn’t have been there. Then claim others cannot think for themselves? Right.”
-Wrong. I am not a Jets fan, but I will defend anyone against irrational and erroneous politically correctness.
Black-Magic: “In other words & in your view, she deserved that treatment …. What a progressive thinker you are Tenebrous. How impressive. Bet the woman that gave birth to you is very proud.”
    – No, not in other words; in my words, she should not have been there – a woman should not be in a men’s locker-room while in use. Conversely, and as I wrote before, neither should a man be in a woman’s locker-room while it is in use.
-Lol, trying to bait me in a personal attack? No thanks. Not that it matters, but I believe that my mom is proud of my ability to reason for myself. I may not be a “progressive thinker” – which of course, is euphemism for a non-thinking pc-drinking automaton – but, I am grateful to God to be an actual thinker.

  122. So, why don’t we all read the transcript from Ines Sainz’s interview and HER comments on how this is a NON-STORY…
Find something TRUE to witch hunt over, you simple idiots!
    Ines Sainz
“I’d like to talk about what happened. First of all I was totally surprised when I found out the next day all the things that were said, but the fact is that I was at NY Jets practice, focusing basically on Sanchez’ performance; in there, they were playing throwing footballs near me, nothing wrong happened in there. Then I had the chance to interview Mark Sanchez in the locker room, in order to do that, I had to go with the media people, and obviously when you go to a place like the locker rooms, you’re somehow exposed to get some talking from the players, and that’s what happened this time, I got into the locker room and they started talking, playing, and making remarks among them; I went straight to Mark’s locker to wait for him -he took about 20 minutes more to come from the field- and a coleague, another female reporter who was also there, came to me to say she was really sorry for the things that was happening in the place, because obviously the players were making comments and jokes about me. But I want to make sure that I never felt not even offended much less at risk or unsafe in there, it was just that it was a bit unusual… I wait for Mark Sanchez, I made the interview, it was all right, and then I left… and the next day I see in the press that I was victim of harassment and unproper behaviour from the jets players. I received a call from Mr. Jhonson himself to apologize and then I even had a meeting with NFL people in charge of international security, I explained to them exactly what happened, we even let them have the footage, and I want to insist, that I never felt uncomfortable or harassed, or that something inappropriate was going on on me.”

  123. I enjoy how racist hispanic television is. The only player that mattered to them was Sanchez. Disgusting.

  124. she is amazing though! and lets face it why does an amazing looking woman want to be a sports reporter? to get jiggy with some players.
and why do they employ her? to get jiggy with some players.

  125. So how many FEMALE locker rooms are male reporters even allowed in around the entire world. This is stupid. If a female goes into a mens locker room where the players are taking showers and changing their clothes she should expect to get some crude words dirrected at her. What do you think would be said if a man walked into a womens locker room. The ladies would become furious and sue the company that allowed this. You can’t win. Hey girls, you burned your bra in the 1960s. If you don’t want to see naked men, stay out of their dressing room. This whole thing is stupid.

This reminds me the story about Rex Ryan having the qb coach throwing extra long passes by the dunkin donut stand and him chasingthe balls and eating all the inventory. He has taught his team well.
    ———————————————-
    Rex chases nothing….

  127. This is a ridiculous story and I cannot believe it’s news. This type of story only sets women back further. If you’re a good looking woman AND you cover men’s sports – expect the catcalls, the whistles, etc.. As long as it doesn’t get verbally abusive or nasty, who the heck cares???
I was in the military for 6 years and worked alongside mean and earned their respect by pulling my own weight. There were catcalls and whistles (and I was nowhere near as pretty as the reporter in question!) and I appreciated it! Big deal about nothing!

  128. @ Tenebrous
Asinine is something you are certainly familiar with, that is obvious in your responses.
Your feeling that women shouldn’t be there doesn’t make the harassment proper. They ARE allowed there, that you think they shouldn’t certainly isn’t fact, it’s an opinion. Not only does everyone have them & they all stink.
The FACT remains, she was doing her JOB & no one deserves to be abused or harassed for doing their JOB. That fact is indisputable, no matter what archaic spin you want to use. No woman deserves to be abused, verbally, physically or sexually. When that fact is stated, you want to hide behind what you call PC thinking. Sorry man, just because she was there, she didn’t ask for the abuse.
Your views of where women should be are very 40 years ago, that’s not being an actual thinker, it’s just old & antiquated. But hey, believe what you need to justify your 1960’s views on women.
As for baiting you, don’t flatter yourself. It’s funnier to listen to your chauvinistic babble.

  129. “One source said that defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was the loudest of the bunch, at one point exclaiming ‘this is our locker room,’ as if to justify the conduct.”
