Welker scores to open Patriots season

It’s safe to say Wes Welker is all the way back. And the Patriots offense looks pretty good too, if different.

The team used their two rookie tight ends split out wide for much of the team’s opening drive. The tight ends helped block for Wes Welker on a receiver screen that went for a nine-yard touchdown.

The scoring drive took only five plays to go 72 yards, including a 45-yard catch by rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez. The Florida product showed great moves with the ball in his hand.
