Justin Harrell is out for the season

Packers defensive lineman Justin Harrell will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL, coach Mike McCarthy said on Monday.

We knew Harrell’s injury was serious, and it’s not terribly surprising. The 2007 first-round pick has only played in 14 games in four seasons because of injuries. He has two career starts.

Green Bay’s defensive line depth could really be tested if they lose another player. Defensive end Johnny Jolly was already suspended indefinitely before the season.

The Packers also confirmed that running back Ryan Grant will miss this week’s game against the Bills, so Brandon Jackson will get the start. The Packers have no other tailback on the roster, so they’ll have to pick someone up. Fullback John Kuhn is expected to back up Jackson.

Grant is the anti-Harrell. This will only be his second missed game in four seasons.
