Forte, Wilson, Crosby named NFC players of the week

Bears running back Matt Forte, Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson and Packers kicker Mason Crosby have been named the NFC players of the week.

Forte received Offensive Player of the Week honors for having 151 receiving yards and 50 rushing yards in the Bears’ win over the Lions. Forte had two touchdown catches and looked, through one game anyway, like he can play the Marshall Faulk role in Mike Martz’s offense.

Wilson received Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in a 17-13 win over the Rams. Wilson grabbed two interceptions, recorded a sack and blocked a field goal. He now has 25 interceptions and 21.5 sacks in his NFL career, and is one of only 10 players in NFL history with at least 20 of each.

Crosby was named Special Teams Player of the Week after he kicked field goals of 49 and 56 yards. The 56-yarder was the longest in Packers history.
