No second thoughts for Favre, yet

Quarterback Brett Favre has a problem with making decisions and sticking to them before the season begins. But once the season begins, he never has had second thoughts.

Yet.

Asked whether he had any regrets regarding his decision to return for a 20th year while making the one-hour, 40-minute drive to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for the weekend baptism of his grandson, Favre said he’s still fine with his third annual unretirement.

“Had we won the ballgame, that trip would have been been a lot easier for those three days and for that ride back,” Favre said, per Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. “But as I said in my first press conference back, I’m here, I’m committed, win or lose, I’ll do everything I can. It just would have been a little bit sweeter had we won that football game. But I wasn’t having second thoughts, no.”

For his second game of his second season with the Vikings, a second ailment has been added next to Favre’s name on the injury report. In addition a having a bad ankle, Favre had a back injury; he nevertheless fully participated in practice.

Limited in practice on Wednesday were receiver Percy Harvin (hip), cornerback Chris Cook (knee), cornerback Cedric Griffin (knee), defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy (knee), and tackle Bryant McKinnie (finger).

Running back Toby Gerhart (knee) and center John Sullivan (calf) fully participated in practice.

For the Dolphins, who’ll play at Minnesota on Sunday, defensive end Ikaika Alama-Francis (illness), linebacker Channing Crowder (groin) and defensive end Jared Odrick (ankle) did not practice. Odrick reportedly will miss the next two games.
