Jerod Mayo thinks Revis is faking

From Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo, via WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan Show by way of PatsFan.com, comes an interesting theory that we thought was used only by aging, gray-haired quarterbacks who hope to be perceived either as heroes or heroic.

Mayo thinks Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis really isn’t injured, and that the injury is being used as an advance excuse for being stranded on his own island -- or as the basis for trumpeting his performance despite being hobbled in the event that Revis shuts down Randy Moss on Sunday.

“Look, he’s healthy, he’s 100 percent healthy,” Mayo said. “I’m not buying into that.”

Mayo thinks that the Jets don’t want the Patriots to know Revis is completely healthy.

“I wouldn’t want anybody to know,” Mayo said. "[I]t’s just a decoy. So then everybody can be like, even if he goes out and has a great game, everybody will be like, ‘Oh, he’s the greatest, he has a tender hamstring. . . . I’m not buying into that.”

It’s good to see that Mayo has become so damn cynical at such a young age. And it’s hard to disagree with him.
