With yours truly needing the Pats to win by 22 or more in order to avoid having to wear Brocato’s Wayne Chrebet jersey for a PFT Daily segment this week, it looked at times as if the Patriots would convert the first drive of the game into a touchdown.
After a long run from Fred Taylor was wiped out by an illegal formation penalty, the Patriots kept moving, nearly getting a long touchdown to Randy Moss at a time when Moss was in obvious double coverage. Eventually, they settled for a field goal. And Stephen Gostkowski converted.
But there was another flag, for delay of game.
The next time around, Gostkowski missed.
It’s 0-0. I hope the Chrebet jersey fits.
