DeDe Dorsey returns to the UFL

Last year, running back DeDe Dorsey led the Las Vegas Locos to the first-ever UFL title.  He was named the MVP of the 20-17 win over the Florida Tuskers.

And now Dorsey is back.

After being cut by the Lions before the start of the season and apparently waiting a couple of weeks for another NFL opportunity to emerge, Dorsey has rejoined the Locos.

The league announced the move today.

The Locos could have used Dorsey last week.  Without him, they lost to the Tuskers, 27-20.

  1. This is welcome news. The Locos without DeDe Dorsey were kind of like the Bay City Rollers without Eydie Gorme.

  2. De De can PLAY! I HATED that he couldn’t hang around in Cincy. Dude just runs for huge yards per carry, and blocks kicks. And I am surprised that he hasn’t latched on somewhere in the NFL. Good Luck De De!

  3. I can’t help but think back to that
great David Letterman line from 1983
    (about the USFL, obviously)
“I’m a little suspicious of any league
in which the grudge rivalries are
    determined by a coin toss.”

  4. Winslow I beg to differ. The Locos without Dorsey are more like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes. They’ll never go platinum.

  5. DeDe was doomed when the Lions got Jahvid Best. He’ll catch on somewhere, but RB is one position Detroit is fairly deep.

Actually Manbearpig, you can keep Harold Melvin with the Blue Notes, they’re crap without Teddy Pendergrass.

  7. You’ve really got to pull for a guy like this, overcoming his stutter like that and making it in professional football.
