Browns place D’Qwell Jackson on injured reserve

The Cleveland Browns have announced that linebacker D’Qwell Jackson has been placed on injured reserve, meaning his season is over.

Jackson suffered a pectoral injury in August and had missed the first two games of the season, but he was said to be making progress, so the news comes as a surprise. Jackson missed most of last season with an injury to his other pectoral muscle.

The Browns have filled Jackson’s place on the 53-man roster by signing wide receiver Sam Aiken. Last year Aiken caught 20 passes for 326 yards for the Patriots, but he was released after the preseason this year.

The Browns also announced that receiver Brian Robiskie (hamstring) and defensive lineman Shaun Rogers (ankle, hip) will miss Sunday’s game and receiver Joshua Cribbs (ankle) has been downgraded to questionable.
