Bills-Patriots one-liners

DE Marcus Stroud said that the Bills weren’t taking any moral victory away from their closer than expected 38-30 loss to the Patriots.

Stroud’s defensive teammates weren’t shy about accepting the blame for the Bills’ first loss since 2002 in a game that saw them score 30 points or more.

RB C.J. Spiller became only the second Bills player to return a kickoff and catch a pass for touchdowns in the same game.

The Bills got better quarterback play from Ryan Fitzpatrick, but his two fourth quarter interceptions were a sign that he isn’t the long-term answer.

K Rian Lindell missed a 51-yard field goal that would have given the Bills a 26-24 lead in the third quarter.

Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 21-of-27 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns to help spoil the upset effort.

The Patriots have allowed 82 points through three games, the worst total at this point in a season of the Bill Belichick era.

Brady continued to make good use of Patriots rookie tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez.

The Patriots lost another running back when Fred Taylor hurt his toe, but BenJarvus Green-Ellis picked up the slack with 98 yards on 16 carries.

Brady had nothing but praise for the Patriots fans after criticizing them following the first home game of the year.
