Bears-Packers one-liners

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler says he didn’t play very well and was out of synch despite Chicago’s 20-17 victory over Green Bay on Monday night.

An old formula did it for for the Bears: A Devin Hester return, a timely turnover, and just enough offense.

Bears DE Julius Peppers earned his money with a blocked field goal and a number of holding penalties drawn.

Bears LB Brian Urlacher likes Chicago’s new role: “We like being the underdog. Obviously, we’ve done well at it. I hope people keep picking against us. It works out good for us when they do. We’re going to play that role the whole year.”

Bears coach Lovie Smith benched CB Zack Bowman during the game:

Stop us if this problem seems familiar: The Packers tackles couldn’t hold up in pass protection.

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel partly blames the loss on Packers coach Mike McCarthy’s decision to go with a spread offense all night.

The only thing that could slow down Packers tight end Jermichael Finley was cramps.

Charles Woodson on the decisive pass interference call against his teammate: “I mean, you can’t tell me that receiver didn’t put his hands on Morgan [Burnett]. And if you can tell that then maybe I’m a liar, but I don’t believe that.”

Aaron Rodgers missed a key late third down throw, but otherwise was excellent. Witness his sweet third-down touchdown run.
