Seahawks sign Brandon Stokley

Two weeks after he was cut by the Broncos, Brandon Stokley has found a new home.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that Stokley, a 12-year veteran wide receiver, has reached an agreement with the Seahawks.

In Seattle Stokley will be reunited with offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, who coached Stokley for two years as a Broncos assistant in 2007 and 2008.

To make room for Stokley, the Seahawks are expected to jettison running back Quinton Ganther.

  1. A receiver corps of Branch-Williams-Stokely-Tate-Butler with those tight ends should complete Matt Hasselbeck’s Comeback Player of the Year Award, which is unsurprising to me.

  2. … absolutely agree with ShaKey – get rid of Jones and keep Ganther . Right now they’re using neither – Ganther wasn’t even active for the SD game and Jones never carried the ball once – but at least Ganther is useful in short yardage situations and on ST . Jones is just a waste of a roster spot .
