Crowder misses practice for Dolphins

At a time when it appeared that Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder could be closing in on a possible return from a lingering groin problem, Crowder missed practice on Friday.

Crowder practiced on a limited basis on Thursday.

Brian Briggane of the Palm Beach Post reports that Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said that Crowder missed practice to see a doctor. Asked if the doctor practices in a different state than Florida, Sparano said, “I’m not gonna do your guys’ work for you.”

Crowder reportedly went to see Dr. James Andrews. As Briggane points out, the fact that Crowder would miss practice to visit a doctor isn’t a good sign.

Also missing practice for the Dolphins were guard John Jerry and defensive end Jared Odrick.

For the Patriots, offensive lineman Nick Kaczur (back), running back Fred Taylor (toe), and cornerback Terrence Wheatley (foot) missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Quarterback Tom Brady once again was a full participant with a shoulder injury that never heals.
