Sam Bradford talks up the Rams as NFC West contenders

The Rams were the worst team in the league last year, which earned them the opportunity to select Sam Bradford with the first pick in the draft. Now Bradford thinks the Rams are heading toward the playoffs.

In an interview with Dan Patrick today, Bradford said he doesn’t see any reason the Rams can’t win the NFC West.

“Each week I feel more comfortable,” Bradford said. “I expect for this team to compete for the division.”

That might sound a little crazy when the Rams have gone 1-15, 2-14 and 3-13 the last three seasons, but it’s really not: The Rams are 2-2 and in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC West, along with the Cardinals and Seahawks.

And considering that the Rams get to play the Lions on Sunday, while the Cardinals play the Saints and the Seahawks are off, it’s entirely possible that a week from today, the Rams will be the only team in the division with a winning record.

Can they keep it up for 12 more weeks? Who knows? But Bradford is right to feel good about his team’s chances.
