Report: Nick Barnett done for the season

NFL_barnett1_250.jpgEarlier tonight, Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Senintel reported that Packers linebacker Nick Barnett would miss the season if/when he has surgery to repair a wrist injury suffered on Sunday against the Lions.

Now, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Barnett is “out for the season.”  Schefter says that the injury is similar to the one that ended Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher’s season in 2009.

The news caps a bad two days for Packers fans.  First, they failed to land running back Marshawn Lynch.  Then, receiver Randy Moss returned to the Vikings, where he’ll team up with Brett Favre.  Now, Barnett leaves a gaping hole in the second level of the Green Bay defense.

  1. Sorry to hear Barnett is done. He is a good backer.
Happy that the Cheeseheads will be whining about how injuries did in their season.

  2. First the Packers didn’t trade for Lynch, whom they don’t need, since their problems are due to aging tackles not being able to run block.
Randy Moss and Brett Favre will have Childress with a gun in his mouth by the end of the season.
Packers will overcome injury and win the NFC North b/c they get it done on the football field not the newspaper.
3-1>1-2 soon to be 1-3 then 1-7 even with Dandy Randy.
Have fun fighting fot that wild card. Keep praying our injuries hurt us, b/c you know you will never beat us without a ton of breaks!!!
    12>4!!!
Hate, hate, hate, but win some games first eh scurbs?

  3. Oh, but don’t fret Packer fans, after all you were “great in the preseason” so were therefore crowned Super Bowl champions. You managed to beat the Bills, Kevin Kolb, and the Lions (by 2 pts) and lost to the only team with a winning record. You failed to get Lynch and the Vikings have Moss.
    BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  4. That so called gap that the packers have on the vikes is shrinking! HAAAAAA! Bring on the pack!

  5. The Vikings had their injuries to begin the season, both starting CB’s Cedric Griffin, Chris Cook, Center John Sullivan, WR Sid Rice and they lost close games to the defending SB Champs and another playoff team in the Fins……let’s see how the Packers perform with a few injuries now with their tough part of the schedule coming in the second half of the season. Of course it helps that the Vikings have a GM and owner who are willing to spend money to fill the holes………hopefully we don’t hear the packer fans “whining” now.

  6. While Urlacher hasn’t returned to his Defensive Player of the Year form he is still a dominant player. I thought last year was the beginning of the end for him. Hopefully Barnett returns just as strong, even if it is a few notches below Urlacher.

  7. @Viking Kong – Ask Bear fans how much Brian Urlachers injury hurt. Ask Steeler fans how much Troy P. injury hurt their defense. Ask the Colts how m…never mind. Trying to explain logic to a Viking fan is impossible. Enjoy your circus.

  8. This article leaves out yesterday’s news that rookie starting safety Morgan Burnett is also out for the season with an injury.

  9. We’ll smoke the Vikings with PS players on defense.
Favre can’t escape the rush. Your oline can’t block. Allen has lost his power, and Moss will be exploding your team from within after the Jets destroy you on MNF. You do realize you ahv the WORST coach in the NFL. I know you do, b/c you tell us about it all the time…..Childress is no Belicheck and even with Moss and Brady BB couldn’t win it, so he got rid of the BAGGAGE!
This season will be nothing but excuses for the CryQueens. Quivering lips and defeated ego’s b/c they spent so much money and still get smoked by the Pack’s backups.
Scurbs, you’ve won nothing and will win nothing. Desperation is a sad place to be.

  10. See you next year, Nick! Sorry to hear.
    The train rolls on.
More time for Bishop and AJ Hawk. They’ll step up and destroy the vikings with CM3 and Zombo. We get better every week, people. We don’t close shop. Packers improvise, adapt, and overcome.
    GO PACK GO!!!

  11. Gotta love it when Vikings fans continue to cheer the injuries on other teams. Still a classless organization with classless fans…and oh yeah, no trophies.

  12. Adrian, Harvin, Moss, Shiancoe and eventually Sid Rice..good luck defenses, you’re gonna need it!

  13. what’s next? good lord its been a rough couple days. Guess its time for Bishop to step up but there goes the Psycho package. Man, secondaries already beat up now are best cover linebackers are hurt…this sux.

  14. @Calistin: if Bishop is so good then why didn’t he supplant one of the starters? Bishop is a backup.

  15. Lynch and Moss really aren’t an issue. Losing Barnett is. 2008 fell apart once Barnett got hurt.

  16. Oh, Vikings… have you not heard that PRIDE comes before a fall?
I wonder if that holds true when you haven’t even gotten off the ground yet. Just sayin’… 1-2 is AWESOME!
Who is gonna throw to Randy Moss after Favres arm falls off? Or his foot?
He’s like the freaking tin man who needs oil everytime there is a hint of moisture in the air.
    Good luck to you, Queens.

  17. and safety Nick Collins sat out today because of a nagging knee injury.
    (he married a knee injury?)

  18. Yes, Yes we heard Desmond Bishop the last 20 times you posted it. He’s going to destroy we got it. Season over GB new Superbowl champs, we got it….BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. Any one want to start the O/U on when Mathews and Hawk go out for the season?

  19. And Green Bay’s overrated, garbage defense continues to deteriorate.
Couldn’t happen to a more deserving group of fans.

  20. Sorry to hear that he’s done, injuries are horrible. Hopefully the recovery goes well.
Keep it respectful people, no ones deserves it.

  21. As a Bears fan, it’s really sad to see how classless Vike fans are. Yeah, I’d say I truly hate you guys more than the traditionally hated Packers.
Like with Urlacher, is anyone going to say that he should just play with a cast and risk permanent nerve damage?
The Packers are going to give up a lot of points this year with the amount injuries they’ve sustained on defense.

  22. Love these Vikings fans…they are 0 for 50 years and ever so hopeful. Remember, there are three things in life that are certain….death, taxes and the Vikings losing in the playoffs (if they make it that far)! Also…the smallest building in Minnesota is the Vikings trophy room!

  23. Once again another PACKERS thread hijacked by Purple Pigtails.
Grow some spine and get some self-respect Vikings fans. You better hope that the Vikings make a good showing in week 7 to justify that huge payroll, otherwise all this shit talk is gonna go to waste.

  24. I knew this was going to be a bad day when I had to wash my great grandmothers green and yellow underwear. I asked her if she was a packer fan and she said, “No, she’s just been really sick.”
I swear I saw a vision of Ted Thompson in them before I tossed them in my neighbors bushes.

  25. Wow. Is it Friday already. Last report I heard was Barnett was going to get a second opinion on Friday. Also not certain how Moss suddenly elevates a 1-2 team (soon to be 1-3…even with Randy) to SB winners. Can’t wait to see Favre try to heave the long throw and come up miserably short (pick!). Play the games and lets see.

  26. It hurts…… Not a thing we can do about it….
Queen fans are a funny bunch though…. They only talk when their team wins a game/signs a big name player or when something bad happens to the Packers….
You guys are so wrong on so many levels… But Queen fans are too stupid to realize how dumb they look…
So F-It…. Please Keep talking…. We ALL know how you “fans” roll……

Your grammar usage is worse then an 8 years old.

  29. The packers are a pretty good team rebuilding for the future, like Detroit. 5-10 years down the road they might challenge for the division.

  30. As a fan of football. It is funny to read the comments on here. How can a Packer fan talk shit when they are in a PROVE situation. They chirp and chirp about how the vikings have no chance, but yet until the packers beat the vikings , they need to PROVE they can talk shit….I will certainly give them props if they do beat us. Until then , please….You have done nothing, other than nothing. Your last big game, you gave up 100000000 points to the Cardinals…..and um errr, are really not that good.
You talk shit about Favre, who still can play…Whether he really wants to anymore is yet to be proven this year…..
The vikings are better at Every Position that matters.
    QB-Check
    Running Back-CHeck
Wide out-Check(now) yesterday nope, and when RIce returns, if the vikings are still in the hunt, they will be unstoppable…..
TE- Check (although finley is a beast, and will be the best in the league if he continues to grow and stays healthy and humble)
    O-line – Check
    Special teams- Check
    Kicker- CHeck
    Defense-Check
Where is this team that we need to watch out for?????? 2 guys- Clay Mathews is awesome, and woodson is a stud….
other than that! please keep in mind, we are a team gelling and the areas of need are being filled buy an owner that makes it happen
Please let me know when you guys make a move a Running Back????? Its actually quite embarressing…..Lets see Kuhn Tear up the leading rushing team over the past 5 years……

  31. Tough break. Hope he heals like Urlacher. One thing to look forward to is Deadspin releasing Favre’s pictures he sent to Sterger. Looking forward to Brett’s press conference. This could be a fun MNF game.

  32. sorry packers fans ohfer 2009 and 2010 vs the vikings I guess
those preseason wins are sure helping now!

  33. Favre will throw at least 3 picks on Monday night. Thought he used to be a gunslinger before…wait for all the spastic throws he’ll chuck up now that he got Wendy and his wet dreams have come true. Rex will run his old ass into the ground and he’ll give up by halftime and just go for broke to the pothead everytime he drops back. Favre’s got dimensia and still thinks Moss is the player he used to be…good luck horn blowers and we’ll see ya week 7 when your pathetic franchise is 1-4 and were 5-1.

  35. Packer fans – step down from the ledges!!!
Actually, that Packers’ D can be easily exploited with, or without, Barnett.
Penny wise, but pound foolish – ouch!!!

  36. Wow the packer fans sound jealous. What almost losing to the Lions with their Second string QB in get you rattled? Long Season haters

  37. You Packer and Bears fans are the whiners. Go check out either of the MN newspapers online and see how bad the Packer fans troll there EVERY SINGLE DAY. All fans from all teams do it, so give it a rest. One more thing — HAHAHA!! PACKERS SUCK!! SO MUCH FOR WINNING THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR!!! There. I said it.

  38. Solid player, real bad news for the Packers…but
freakin great news for the Skins. We will need all the help we can get with Portis done.

  39. Ouch Ouch
Do Green Bay fans still want to declare themselves super bowl champions? I mean, what have you guys really accomplished over the year to even merit that. You guys run up the scoreboard against mediocre defenses. Your offense looks better than it is because you’ve gone up against blitz-heavy defenses and defensive coordinators did not respect Rodgers in that respect to beat the blitz. Now this year you see a bunch of zone and his numbers are just middle of the road. Normally you’d run the ball against a zone defense, but forget that. Your offensive line can’t run block. And stop with those theories that your 3rd and 4th receivers would be a number 1 on most teams, thats just ridiculous! More dumb hype from your market, too be completely harsh with you guys.
Don’t even get me started on the defense. Outside of Matthews, the defensive line and linebackers are just middle of the road players. Woodson is a playmaker but he’s no elite cover guy and the rest of your corners are awful, yes even Bigby and Harris. Collins is solid but no elite safety. Outside of Collins and woodson, nobody on your secondary would start for another NFL team. Poor packer fans.

  40. this sucks for packer fans…barnett is good.
condolences from this vikes fan. never good to see someone out for the season no matter what team they play for.

Hypocrites. There were plenty of you cheering the injuries to Rice and Chris Cook earlier this year, so stop acting so high and mighty. There’s plenty of classless trolls on your side of the fence too. I mean really, people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

  42. @Jabberwocky…. You say,
The Packers are going to give up a lot of points this year with the amount injuries they’ve sustained on defense…… They’ve given up a lot of points even with a healthy defense. Vick ran wild against them as did the Shaun Hill led Lions.

Keep posting useless garbage like that….. It won’t take long for the site to ban your posts.
The best post I have seen on this entire board is from CanadianVikingFan……..
Absolutly right no one deserves injuries. I hope he does get well soon. Barnett is as important to the Packers defense as EJ is to the Vikings and Urlacher to the Bears and Ray Lewis to the Ravens.

Oh man, the hypocrisy is just OOZING from this thread.

  44. eh idk if the whole season is over yet for those packers, the pride and joy is the offense, they can get into shootouts and do OK. the pass rush revolves around clay matthews… obviously an inside linebacker contributes more to run defense, but i think they should be able to rally. i think it puts more pressure on the offense to put points on the board and force opposing offenses to throw more to keep up than anything.

  45. I’m way more impressed with the bears and lions in this division than I am with the so-called superbowl-contending vikings or packers. This division is a hot mess, and coming from a Chargers fan, that’s saying something. I was rooting for the packers and vikings to do well this year, but Brett screwed his team by avoiding training camp, and the packers have just plain failed to impress me.
Still a lot of games left. I think the packers will still win the division, then flicker out in the playoffs. The vikings on the other hand, I believe are in for a LONG season, even with their new (or should I say old?) toy.

  46. The real question is…how many Old Milwaukees did Calistan drink today?? I’ve never seen someone so delusional.

  47. @ Calistin says: October 6, 2010 11:16 PM
You spent a lot of time talking about the vikings in a packer post…lol thought that was funny, seems to show you are more worried and frustrated than the 1-2 vikings. How is getting one of the biggest deep threats in the history of the NFL desperate..think about that for a second..

  48. Why cant they put a cast on it? Linebackers don’t need hands, just arms. No interceptions, big deal.

  49. The Packers are on their way to the great Packer teams of the 70’s and 80’s and the beginning of the 90’s, I shake my head at the shame the Packer fans must be feeling to have their team regress to being a below average team once again.
What a great day , put’s a nice smile apon ones face. The pack are shittin- bricks right now knowing not only is their old nemesis back but to put the frosting on the cake , we have their ex qb to throw the ball to him. When the Vikings play the Packers (what a sour taste that puts in ones mouth to have to say such a lame name)it will be nothing less then total embarressment for the Packers and once again show the world why they are the NFL and all sports the joke of the sports world.

  50. The Packers will miss Barnetts play, but my question is who is going pick up the “dance for nothing” ratio on the defense?
Barnett is the king of “make a tackle for a 4 yard gain and get up and scream and dance like I did something spectacular”. Newsflash, you are supposed to make that tackle. It’s like the return of Dwayne Rudd, only admittedly a better player.
Here’s hoping Hawk has his dancing shoes on.

  51. Lot of shots by whinny packer fans. Makes you wonder what fan base really has no class?

  52. I see the Vikings “fans” are coming back out of the woodwork. You team is still 1-2, so you know, just relax there a bit.

  53. Leave it to the CryQueen fans to pile it on. They have as much class as they have Lombardi trophies which is to say, none.
Myself, I am interested to see how the back ups perform. If TT is right, this is a deep team as evidenced by Barnett’s replacemement, Desmond Bishop. He has complained previously about his lack of playing time and so we will soon see if he is as good as he has shown to be in the preseason when the games don’t count.
Injuries are part of the game and I rarely see Packer fans using that as excuse. To be fair, the CryQueen fans prefer excuses such as Katrina, the ref’s and a NFL league wide conspiracy to injuries but is there a bigger bunch of whiners on PFT?

With a QB that really doesn’t want to be there. With an O-line that really can’t seem to protect the QB. With a coach that can’t even get on the same page with the QB.

  55. @Calistin: Bishop is a great back up to have, but that is all that he is. He blows as many plays as he makes and that worries me big time. He got his wish though for playing time, lets hope he does surprise.

Didn’t the Pat’s kill the Phin’s, and didn’t Pat’s barely get by the Bill’s, which as you say we only beat the Bills, but also didn’t the Vike’s lose to the Phin’s that got destroyed by the Pat’s which will be playing the Vike’s in a couple of weeks. So doe’s it really matter who Pack won, or lost too.

  57. It is strange that the Vikings have won the division during their bye week. We’ll take it though.

  58. LOL, yeah Bishop is a backup and didn’t supplant any starters b/c Barnett and Hawk are good players.
Keep talking smack and then when Bishop lights up Favre what will you be saying.
    CryQueens Trophy Count…ready go…..
    Randy Moss Trophy Count….ready…go
    Childress Football Knowledge….ready….go

  59. First of all- this report is bogus. Barnett is scheduled for a second opinion Friday. Surgery is a must- but if it can wait, it will. If Barnett is indeed done… our opponents will get a steady dose of the Bishop, who is no slouch. I’m not saying i’m not worried- because I am. Guys are dropping like flies. However, with as high powered an offense as the Packers have, winning ANY game is very, very possible. I will never give up on a season until Rodgers goes down.

  60. Could have done without this injury. Now what? I think Barnett is an incredible douchebag, he is a better than average linebacker. Glad we hung on to Desmond Bishop. He’s gotta be happy today.
I don’t care about missing out on Lynch though. He’s a thug one strike away from a year of suspension. If I was TT, I’d be on the phone to Carolina offering picks for a good RB. Whomever we get will just get hurt anyway. Man, am I negative. Hit me with an Old Milwaukee. Make it a 40 ouncer.

  61. sorry to hear. nobody should celebrate an injury. vikings fans need to pipe down, or karma will strike the viking players with injuries.

  62. Viking fans have to realize that Randy Moss, is not the same Randy Moss they are used to…

  63. It’s amazing how those very classy viking fans talk about what wonderful news packers players being injured are. When Henderson was injured last season many packer fans on this site offered their sympathy to him here and when the rare few comments appeared celebrating the injury, the angry cat scratching from the hapless viking fans overflowed. Hypocrisy, the name is viqueen fans. Anywho, you are simply earning more and more bad karma that will continue to crush your already disappointing season. And oh yeah, enjoy the twinkies getting swept out of the playoffs yet again! Don’t forget, they got the new stadium while the vikings got the ticket out of town.

  66. Wow. The hits just keep coming. At least this time it’s at a position where we have some depth. One of two such positions on the entire roster.

Everyone who knows football can see that. Most people saw it after his lackluster Seattle tenure. Even those who didn’t know it then, sure as hell know it now.

Brilliant. Up until now, I had no idea that games played 40 years ago had any bearing on who is currently the better team, but with that eloquent explanation “Enuf said,” I’m seeing things much more clearly and can plainly see how football results of the 60’s and 70’s are relevant to the performances of the teams today. Thank you Gossamer, Pulitzer material.

  68. I never thought much of Nick Barnett or Ryan Grant so I don’t feel their injuries kill the Packers chances. But not trading for Marshwn Lynch was not a smart move by Ted Thompson, Brandon Jackson “runs to darkness” and John Kuhn is a FB not a HB. Randy Moss being reunited with the Vikings is HUGE. Is the move desperate? Yes. Is Moss by far the best player the Vikings could get based on need, chemistry, and fan excitment? YES.

  69. Its called tradition dumarse. Winning is a tradition in Green Bay; and not so much in Minneapolis. Vikings build a dome where they could use weather to thier advantage like all other cold weather teams except Detroit…….and look how well they do. At least the Bears have an outdoor stadium. I guess they had to build indoor stadium to keep the whining level from escalating to a deafing roar from the whineyarsed fans eh?! Lol!

  70. @Calistin you are not a fan, you are a delusinary fanatic, therefore your opinions on anything football related mean absolutely nothing

Packers will overcome injury and win the NFC North b/c they get it done on the football field not the newspaper.
Sure they will, just like they did the last two seasons.

  74. How many times do I have to say it? The Packers fans believe firmly that the world owes them more championships. They believe that they are the single most successful and laudable and valuable and righteous sports franchise on earth. They demand that the rest of us bow down, especially those of us without Super Bowl victories. Especially especially Minnesota Vikings fans.
Problems for anyone else are nothing for the Holy Pack. Their backups play superbly and ‘we’ll be fine’ without a rushing attack or a middle linebacker or a starting safety or competent tackles. Other teams successes, especially especially those for Minnesota, in any form, are laughable and ridiculous and those of us that support Minnesota Vikings teams are clearly delusional idiots that need pity and lambasting and spanking whenever possible to teach us that we’re morons and that the Holy Pack is clearly supreme.
Hey, Packers fans: If Rogers goes out for even part of a game, you’ll be screaming for someone’s head. You’ll be demanding justice. You know very well that if Rogers is gone, your season is gone. I hope he can stay upright, or the bitching will never end. If Moss/Favre/Peterson score points on you, the excuses will flow like a leaky keg, and you know it. If Minny beats you, you’ll shut up pretty fast, just like last year. Remember all the posturing and bravado last year? I certainly do. Then it was quiet. Eerie even. Wow. That’s how to get you people to shut up. I see.
    Play the games!

  75. In addition to trying to field a good team, you also need some luck to succeed in the NFL, and it looks like GB is on the wrong side of that equation this year. The success of our defensive schemes relies on LB’s, and with Barnett out and Chillar hurting, it’s going to be even harder to stop offenses–after we’ve already made the Lion’s second-team QB look like an all-pro. Despite losing our feature RB this year, it’s the weaknesses on the defensive side of the ball that are really going to hurt us.

  76. bubba
really? I did not hear this. send a link to the story.
but I would not ever celebrate an injury to an opposing team. it’s downright pathetic. Seeing other Viking fans posts on here really is disapointing. There needs to be a line drawn. When EJ henderson went down, there was nothing but love for the guy from almost all packer fans. vikings fans, which I am one, need to shut up. This entire season for the vikings could blow up in an instant. deadspin.com may release the favre pictures. can you say media, PR nightmare?

  77. Gossamer
I fully understand what tradition is, and the fine one that GB has. What I don’t understand is how it is even remotely relevant to bring up games played 40 years ago in a conversation about the current state of the Packers and Vikings. That’s always the last line of defense for the less intelligent of your bunch. “So what you’ve beat us 3 times in a row, we won a Super Bowl 15 years ago so we’re better.”
That would be like you ripping on the Vikings so far sub par passing game, and me countering by saying, “So what, the Vikings led the league in passing yards in 1998, so the Vikes are better than your team.” That statement has nothing to do with the current state of the team, much like your constant bringing up of 40 year old football games.

  78. Really man, deadspin “may” release the nonexistent photos today? Yeah, and I “may” win the lotto today, even though I’ve never purchased a ticket in my entire life. Use your head man, they’ve been driving this story into the ground for over a month now, don’t you think if there really were photos, they would have surfaced by now? And don’t you find it odd that the supposed source of this whole debacle refuses to comment or provide any info, or even consent, even though she isn’t even employed by an NFL team anymore so she wouldn’t have to fear losing her job?

  79. Tough deal for the Pack, and normally I’d feel bad for the player; however, this guy beat on women so there must be some sort of karma at play here. Now we’ll get a chance to see how good AJ Hawk really is.

@Calistin you are not a fan, you are a delusinary fanatic, therefore your opinions on anything football related mean absolutely nothing

That’s a lot more diplomatic than I would have been. Just last night she was crying about how Vikings fans were trolling packer threads, yet there she was on every Moss thread, spewing ignorance plastered with poor attempts at cheap shots towards the Vikings. Physician, heal thyself. (The glass house & throwing stones/parties was already used).
That being said, that news kind of sucks. Everything after the D-line is riddled with injuries, and Matthews is just one man. Hawk offers nothing, so unless the packers have a top-5 LB (DBishop is average at best, and Zombo is still a question mark) in the wings that no one has heard of, you might lose a little on the pass rush so Matthews can monitor the middle (again, see Hawk). Just my humble opinion as a Vikes fan in WI, but the options are slowly limiting themselves. Looking at the overhead roster at NFL.com, I quote another poster who said it looks like a M*A*S*H* unit back there. Here’s to health!

  81. ok with this injury move Aj to starter have poppinga play the 2nd mike need to sign another outside linebacker familiar with our system running game needs to step it up so rodgers isnt carrying the entire team with every throw because i believe the pressure is getting to him

  82. Injuries are quickly tanking this season. Kind of depressing.
I do find it funny that fans of other teams are laughing about it. The injury bug is fickle. Don’t taunt it. Every team is a game away from losing quality players.

He beat on a woman…? Where do you get your info…? She smacked him in the face, so he threw a drink in her face and pushed her away from him and she missed a step and fell. Nice and convenient how she took a little settlement to settle the issue…insert gold digging “b-word”.
I suppose he should’ve calmed sthe situation by trying to run her over like your new stud WR tried doing to a police officer the last time he was in town, right?

  84. No horse in this race, there are classless fans for ALL teams, but there is something wrong with a franchise where Brad Childress has been able to cling to a head coaching spot this long. The guy is an idiot.
Packers probably still win the NFC-N by default, but I don’t see any serious SB contenders in that division. Anyone who does is blinded by their team loyalty.

Barnett never “beat on” any women. He was accosted by a drunk in a bar and there was a shove. You’re a half step from turning into Contra when you start that crap.
Profanity all in is one of the few Viking fans to show some class. In truth, I don’t believe that the guys on here represent Viking fans, there just happen to be a handfull of db’s on here that give all Viking fans a bad name.
But the bad name they’re giving them is really bad, you read more and more comments from non NFC North team’s fans mentioning it. Why don’t you start policing yourself, and run the FOF’s and the stetai’s and the Pervy’s out of here yourself? They make you all look like idiots.

Of course it helps that the Vikings have a GM and owner who are willing to spend money to fill the holes………hopefu lly we don’t hear the packer fans “whining” now.

You must now something I don’t. When did the VIkings hire a GM?

Actually, FoF is already gone. He’s started his own blog revolving around the day he got Brett’s autograph at Oakwood Mall. Apparently Brett’s hand brushed against his or something…I don’t know, I didn’t read the rest.

Well, we just got back from our bi-monthly trip to Hattiesburg to stare at the Favre compound, and what a trip it was! As we were sitting at the base of the driveway, guess who comes rolling down in an F-350 Turbo Diesel? The man himself! With the heart of a leader, he steps out and says, “How many times am I gonna have to call the police on you wackos? I guess I’ll have to handle this myself.”
With the resourcefulness of Rambo in First Blood, he grabs the lawn mower gas out of the box of his truck and douses me with it and sets me ablaze. Man, now I know how much pain he was in during that biceps tear! As I was dipping in and out of conciousness, only one thing never escaped my eye. Brett’s good boy chuckle and that Aw Shucks look in his eye.
Now, when I look at the skins grapts and Class 4 scarring, I’ll never forget that fateful day. Thanks 4 the Memories, Brett! We’ll never 4get you!

Nice to see that the new comment system is up and running at peak efficiency. of course by that logic, so is the packers defense.

  90. Let’s spin the Packer injury wheel again!
I see Tauscher or Cliffy going down this week.

  92. Fair enough rulz, but until there is anything but “speculative” evidence at best, this is still a non story. Which is why it’s garnering virtually no media attention. I saw the pics, watched their clever little video, and saw nor heard anything completely damning. I saw some random dude’s junk, and heard a voice that sounded similar to Favre’s, but kind of dropped the accent from time to time. And isn’t it a bit odd Sterger refuses to comment?

The Vikings had their injuries to begin the season, both starting CB’s Cedric Griffin, Chris Cook, Center John Sullivan, WR Sid Rice and they lost close games to the defending SB Champs and another playoff team in the Fins……let’s see how the Packers perform with a few injuries now with their tough part of the schedule coming in the second half of the season. Of course it helps that the Vikings have a GM and owner who are willing to spend money to fill the holes………hopefu lly we don’t hear the packer fans “whining” now.
    ———–
Yeah, that’s comparable. Sullivan and Winfield started all three games so far. Are you really playing the injury card with those guys?
And who made the Dolphins a playoff team? They didn’t make the playoffs last year. Does your crystal ball say they’re going this year?
Your analogy is ridiculous. The Vikings have so far lost a total of 7 games from Cook (2), Griffin (2), Winfield (0), Sullivan (0) and Rice (3). Rice will miss at least another few.. So let’s put that total at about 10 lost games due to injury… Cook isn’t a starter, either. But for the purposes of this comparison we’ll include him.
The Packers will miss 15 games from Grant, 13 from Burnett and probably 13 more from Barnett as well. And there’s rumors about Chillar’s injury being a serious one. He’s missed one game so far. So you’re really going to compare about 10 lost games to 41+?
    Get a clue.

  94. Isn’t it a bit odd Favre refused to comment? Wouldn’t he be angrily defending his “image” if it weren’t him? Wouldn’t you?
