Lions extend Rob Sims

The Lions acquired offensive lineman Rob Sims in a trade earlier this year with the Seahawks.

And the Lions have decided that they like the player who was working under a one-year tender to keep him.

Per a league source, Sims has signed a four-year extension.  Terms are not yet available.

A five-year veteran, Sims started 14 games last year for the Seahawks.  He has started all four games in 2010 with the Lions.

  1. Now fix the Backus and Raiola hole….and hell quite possible the Godser Cherilous hole at RT.

  2. Glad to see them lock him up. Heck of a deal by Mayhew to get him for a 5th round pick.
Brighter days lie ahead for us Lions fans, even if that doesn’t mean until post-lockout!

  3. Now, if we can just find a decent Center and Left Tackle…
we might be able to run the ball and keep our QB in one piece.

  4. Changing anything on the o-line doesn’t matter till Backus is out of there. He’s the worst LT in the league hands down.

  5. There’s probably some pretty team friendly deals being signed at this point… guys would have the money in their pocket now than wait until post-lockout free agency in 2012.
