Marc Colombo fined $5,000

Cowboys offensive lineman Marc Colombo was flagged for two 15-yard penalties in Sunday’s loss to the Titans, and one of them — a celebration penalty that helped set up the Titans’ game winning score — has been the subject of much debate this week.

But it was the other 15-yard penalty, an unnecessary roughness call in the second quarter, that got Colombo fined $5,000 by the league office.

The unnecessary roughness penalty was a costly one, too: The Cowboys had marched into Titans territory and were at the Tennessee 41-yard line before the flag, but they ended up punting from their own 45-yard line two plays after Colombo’s personal foul.

Colombo was not fined for the celebration penalty.
