Culpepper’s late scramble delivers victory for Mountain Lions

For those of you who may not have noticed, another UFL week of action has begun.

And in this regard, “those of you” means “most of you.” Or, possibly, “all of you.”

But roughly 10,000 people in Florida noticed; they attended the game played between the Sacramento Mountain Lions and the Florida Tuskers.

In the end, the Mountain Lions scored a late 21-17 victory, thanks to a 10-yard run on a quarterback draw from quarterback Daunte Culpepper.

The game was played in Orlando’s Citrus Bowl, the site of Culpepper’s college exploits with Central Florida.

The winning touchdown, which came with two minutes remaining, capped a 71-yard drive that came after Culpepper threw an interception that later gave Florida a 17-12 lead.

The win, Sacramento’s second of the season over the Tuskers, pushes the Mountain Lions to 2-3. Florida also has won two and lost three.

In this week’s other UFL game, the Hartford Colonials face the Las Vegas Locos on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Omaha Nighthawks play the role of the fifth wheel in Week Six.
