Though the Lions think they have a shot at parlaying their 1-5 start into a playoff berth, the locals in Motown are skeptical.
According to the Detroit News, the Lions still must sell a whopping 10,000 tickets by Thursday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
For their last home game -- a 44-6 win over the Rams -- the Lions managed to move 2,500 tickets with a 24-hour extension, which raised suspicions that the surplus tickets were purchased by the team (with the help of sponsors) at 34 cents on the dollar. We doubt that the Lions and/or their sponsors will eat 10,000 tickets, even at 34 cents on the dollar.
At an average price of $100 per seat, the price tag for buying a sellout would be $340,000.
