49ers coach Mike Singletary, who made like Winston Churchill in comments Friday, should have one of his key troops available for Sunday’s game against the Broncos.
Vernon Davis is listed as questionable with an ankle injury after returning for a limited practice on Friday. While coach Mike Singletary was non-commital about Davis’ status, Matt Maiocco of Comcast Bay Area says Davis will play.
Backup running back Anthony Dixon (hamstring) is questionable, while cornerback Tarell Brown (back) is doubtful. Singletary says it’s a priority to get Dixon and fellow backup Brian Westbrook more involved in the offense.
Expect plenty of running with Troy Smith at quarterback and the Broncos porous rush defense on the other side.
