Kenny Britt to miss "extended period of time"

Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt’s rollercoaster year continues.

His touchdown streak ended at five games Sunday when he hurt his hamstring in the first quarter against the Chargers.  It sounds like a serious injury.

Coach Jeff Fisher said Britt will miss an “extended period of time,” according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.  Britt heard his hamstring “pop.”  The Titans are headed for their bye week, but it sounds like Britt could be out a while longer.

Just days after getting in an altercation at a Nashville nightclub, Britt put up 225 yards and three touchdowns last week against the Eagles.  Fisher said Britt will not face any further team punishment for the incident.

The week off comes at a good time for the Titans.  Starting quarterback Vince Young left Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego Sunday in a walking boot after an ankle injury.

“I just re-injured it,” he said via Terry McCormick of TitansInsider.com. “I have to wait till tomorrow to get it
checked out and go from there; hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”

The Titans feel like they missed an opportunity in San Diego, but they hit their bye week in  good shape at 5-3.  It sure beats the start to the season they had last year.
