The 2010 Cowboys: Not into the game “like an NFL team should be”

It’s rare to hear any real honest assessments of the Dallas Cowboys from the organization itself, so leave it to Jaguars quarterback David Garrard to write the epitaph to Dallas’ 2010 season.

“It just looked like they weren’t into the game like an NFL team should be,’' Garrard told SI’s Peter King Sunday. He said he picked up on a “woe is me” attitude on the Cowboys.

Garrard has been one of the most erratic players in the NFL this year. The Cowboys made him look like Johnny Unitas: 17-for-21 for 260 yards and four touchdowns.

Like a bad fantasy football player or a hometown fan, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones can’t self scout. He loves his players too much. The Cowboys’ supposedly primed, veteran defense has given up 34 points to the Titans, 41 points to the Giants, and 35 points to the Jaguars in October.

You can’t blame that on Tony Romo.
