After making the start on Sunday despite suffering from an ankle injury, Vikings receiver Percy Harvin has broken off a couple of long catch-and-runs.
After the second one, Harvin came up limping, and he left the game.
Two plays later, running back Adrian Peterson scored on a 12-yard touchdown pass.
And then, as usual, Peterson dropped to two knees, in a gesture that never gets flagged because he’s supposedly praying. This time around, his prayer consisted of blowing a two handed kiss to the crowd.
We complain about the lack of consistency because the bright-line application of the rule to the Cowboys earlier this year when tackle Marc Colombo fell-down-went-boom after a chest bump with tight end Jason Witten drew a 15-yard penalty that made it easier to the Titans to then drive down the field and win the game.
In Minnesota, it didn’t matter. La’Rod Stephens-Howling took the kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown.
And then Harvin came back, returning the next kickoff. But not for a touchdown.
The game currently is tied, 7-7.
