Hasselbeck breaks bone in wrist as Seahawks separate in NFC West

The two blowout losses in a row are just a memory. The Seahawks are in control of the NFC West race at 5-4 following their 36-18 win over the Cardinals Sunday.

Seattle is 3-1 in the division after sweeping the Cardinals. The Rams are in second place at 4-5, but they can’t win on the road. Three of their next four games are on the road.

Perhaps the biggest advantage Seattle has: A veteran quarterback in Matt Hasselbeck. Seattle’s offense finally got going on Sunday, with Hasselbeck completing 22-of-34 passes for 333 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks just have to keep him on the field.

Hasselbeck missed a number of snaps against Arizona with a broken bone in his non-throwing wrist. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said the injury “looks to be manageable” after the game, according to Danny O’ Neil of the Seattle Times.

That was where we were going to end the post, but we just had to point one more thing out. Big Mike Williams caught 22 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown in two games against Arizona. That is all.
