Randy Moss helps Titans to a touchdown

When the Titans claimed Randy Moss off of waivers, the conventional wisdom was that he would give the team some life in the deep passing game while also helping create room for Chris Johnson to operate.

He has already started paying dividends on both counts.

Kerry Collins looked Moss’s way deep down the left side of the field and the newest Titan drew a pass interference penalty on Dolphins corner Vontae Davis. The flag moved the Titans 33 yards down the field and into Dolphins territory, where Johnson took over.

He had two carries for 36 yards, including a 17-yarder to score a touchdown and tie the score at 7 in the first quarter. The Dolphins have not been crowding the line at all, something that Johnson has taken advantage of to the tune of 42 yards on his first six carries.

The Titans took a 10-7 lead on a Rob Bironas field goal after a fake punt by the Dolphins failed to extend their drive deep inside their own territory.
