Listen to the Vikings players this week and you can’t help but sense their excitement that Brad Childress is out of the building.

Even though the coaches have said all the right things, interim head coach Leslie Frazier and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell also sound excited about their new opportunities.

“This week, it was a little bit different,” Bevell said via Tom Pelissero of espn1500.com. “I still kept Coach Frazier informed, told him what we were doing, how we felt like we should attack them. But it wasn’t like, ‘I don’t like that, throw that out’ or ‘I like this, put that in.’ There wasn’t any of that.”

Frazier does have some adjustments he wants made in the offense.

“We have to continue to hammer some things, because it’s a little bit different than what we have talked about in the past,” said Frazier this week. “I do feel like they are buying into what we are trying to get accomplished. It should bode dividends for us.”

Considering the opponent (Washington), Bevell’s offense may indeed wind up looking pretty good this week.
