NFL won’t change Giants-Vikings start time, yet

Despite a Twin Cities snowstorm that has diverted the New York Giants’ team flight to Minneapolis, the NFL announced Saturday afternoon that it has no intentions of changing the Giants-Vikings start time “under any scenario yet.”

The Giants are currently stuck in Missouri, where they’ve been forced to conduct their Saturday walkthrough and pre-game meetings in Kansas City’s MCI airport. With snow not expected to cease before midnight tonight, it’s been speculated that the game might have to be pushed back to 4:15 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News speculates that the Giants may have to wait until Sunday morning to fly out of Kansas City.

Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities went so far as to suggest the game could be delayed until Monday.

Per NFL spokesman Greg Aiello, as of 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday no decision had been made on Giants-Vikings kickoff time if the G-Men can’t get to Minnesota by Saturday night.

UPDATE: Giants V.P. of communications Pat Hanlon passes along that the team will be staying in Kansas City for the night. Hanlon has posted plenty of pictures of the stranded ballclub on his Twitter account.
