Terrell Suggs doesn’t think Tom Brady is a Pro Bowler

The fans have spoken, and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady bested Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in the AFC by more than 700,000 votes.

But the fan votes count for only 33 percent of the outcome.  The other two thirds are supplied by players and by coaches.

And Brady didn’t get a vote from Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs.

Suggs told Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports that Suggs voted for Philip Rivers, Manning, and Ryan Fitzpatrick in the first-place, second-place, and third-place ballot.

So why not Brady?  “I’m pretty sure he didn’t vote for me, either,” Suggs said.

It’s Suggs’ latest assault on Brady, whom Suggs apparently despises.  Last week, Suggs declared that Saints quarterback Drew Brees is better than Brady or Manning.  If nothing else, it should make for an even more intriguing matchup in the postseason, if the Ravens and Pats get together again.

  1. T-sizzel can barely string 3 coherent sentences together so this is really a non-story. Ask him to spell Tom Brady.

  2. Suggs, gotta let the hate go bro. I am no Pats fan either. But even I find joy in watching Brady and the Pats do their thing. Brady is probably the best QB of this era. Easily one of the best to play the game.

    31 TDs, 4 INTs, 3561 yard and a 109.9 QB rating.

    Yeah, he’s not a pro-bowler.

    /sigh

  3. Ok, look…I grant him putting Phillip Rivers and Peyton Manning on there.

But Ryan Fitzpatrick? I mean, Terrell, you have your right to your opinion, dude, but there’s no planet where Fitzpatrick (who wasn’t even the STARTER for the Bills as the season began) is in over Brady. Not a chance.

Take a page from Ray Lewis and show some class. Oh wait…

  4. I cannot find much fault in what he is saying. I think Brees is as good as either of those 2 and has been in years past. I am not a huge Brady fan. I think that he benefits from a very good O-Line. Don’t get me wrong I think he is one of the best to play the game over the years, but I think that brees is right there with him and Manning!

  5. Terrell Suggs…tsk tsk tsk. Just keep adding fuel to the fire.

P.S.- You were really good as the head Orc in Lord of the Rings

  6. So Suggs voted for Fitzpatrick over Brady … because Sugg is “pretty sure that Tom Brady didn’t vote for him.”

    Priceless.

Suggs better make his money in the NFL and not squander it on 12 cars, poor investments and 9 baby moms … ‘cuz he’s got the brainpower of a sandflea and won’t conceivably earn it off the field.

One exception: Suggs could rake in the dough off the field if he pulls a Hollywood Henderson and wins $28,000,000 in the state lottery. That’s the only conceivable way though.

  7. Tom Brady is 17 passes shy of setting a new record for most pass attempts without an interception. I’d say that’s pro bowl material.

Also pretty sure he’s decimating the record for most passes thrown in a single season without a pick, considering Kosar’s record of 308 passes were split between two seasons.

I’m not a Pats fine(don’t dislike them either, just not a fan) but I would love to see Brady break that record so I can shove it in the faces of all the Indy homers around here who drool over Manning.

  8. Obviously this guy dislikes Brady.

Pretty sure Brady will make the Pro Bowl so who really cares.

    Who is this Terrell Suggs?!

Don’t be dumb, Terrell Suggs is a beast OLB, don’t discredit him just cause he dissing Brady, play with him on Madden 10 automatic sacks.

  10. The Pro-Bowl is not a real sporting event, it’s just a glorified scrimmage.

Therefore, it’s a perfect spot for a guy who throws 5 yard check-down passes 95% of the time.

  11. Brady said it best after the last Baltimore game — Suggs and the rest of the Ravens sure do talk a lot of crap considering they have only managed to beat the Patriots with Brady as QB one time in like 6 meetings.

If Brady sucks and Suggs and Co. can’t beat him what does that say about the Ravens?

  12. And my short stint of agreeing with suggs is over. I hate tom brady as much as the next straight fan but his numbers and play speak for themselves and he fits perfectly in the pats’ system. As a steelers fan, i would definitely not trade him for ben because brady would get killed with the steelers o-line and he is a whiny bitch that makes me wretch with his snideness and lack of respect for the physical aspect of the game, but in the pats O brady is almost a goddess.

  13. The Ravens don’t live in the real world they just make things up and say them. I wonder where they picked that trait up from? Maybe their old foot loving d coordinator?

  14. Brady has to be a pro-bowler simply because of his numbers.

But based on the fact that all of his passes are essentially long hand-offs, he should be doing better than he actually is.

Suggs has a valid criticism–Brady is woefully overrated. He should be completing 75%-80% of his passes in that sissy offense, not 66%.

  15. It’s too bad the Ravens just aren’t good enough to make it out of the wildcard weekend cuz I’d love to see TB12 put Suggs in his place…again.

  16. Man, I’m no Pats fan by any stretch but even I know Brady is a Pro Bowl QB (like the players even care if they are voted to it or not, half of them choose not to go anyway). Suggs should stick to being a LB and quit being a buffoon, if that is possible.

  17. I expect Suggs will encounter more abuse on this than if he had insulted Mother Teresa.

The old line about “Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt” comes to mind.

  18. I hope Brady did not vote for Suggs, because Suggs is not a Pro-Bowl caliber player at this point in his career. All noise and hype. No real game. And no brain, either, apparently.

  19. Terell Suggs what has he won? take a wild guess its a number less than one.

i guess reporters in Baltimore are pretty stupid and have nothing better to do. isnt this act getting tired and old?

why keep beating a dead horse?

  20. Terrell Suggs obviously is not the brightest bulb on the tree. The fact he has Ryan Fitzpatrick ahead of Brady and Breez is all we need to know. By the way lifetime the Ravens are 1-6 against Brady and the Pats and I assume Suggs played in most of those games

  21. Just another example of the “thug mentality” that is the Baltimore Ravens!
Baltimore has beaten New England ONE TIME in NINE YEARS!! T-Sizzle, is about as dumb as they come!
Brady and Company have OWNED Baltimore’s ass over the last 9 years(oh yeah and won 3 Superbowls while doing it).
Hey T-Sizzle, why don’t you guys figure out how to beat Pittsburgh before taking on the big boys!

  22. Ravens fan here. Terrell shut up!

Brady’s comment a few months back about a team talking a lot for beating him one time in the last 9 or 10 years. I hate to admit it, but Brady was right.

Terrell beat him and then you can talk. I would absolutely despise you if you weren’t on the team I support. Even with you on my team, I have my moments when you make someone like Joey Porter seem more likeable.

    Shut up and win Terrell.

  23. Suggs has a valid criticism–Brady is woefully overrated. He should be completing 75%-80% of his passes in that sissy offense, not 66%.

I’m pretty sure a 109.9 rating is among the best ever. If 31 TD’s and 4 Int’s is a sissy offense, I’ll take it any day. Oh! Did I mention 3561 yards. Your a dope.

If Sanchez, Roethlisberger or any other QB in the league could do what Brady does, they would.

    Sissy offense…please fool!

  25. Funny, the only time I have seen T-fizzle in the news lately is when… you guessed it… he is talking about Tom Brady. Maybe he should focus a bit more on his game and try to make the news for making a play. Then he would not need to talk about Tom just to get people to listen to him. Pathetic. Please come back to Foxboro Ravens. I can’t wait to watch the Patriots bury your pathetic, underachieving squad.

  26. To me I think that quarterbacks that do not have good o-lines and are still winning should be MVP’s or pro-bowlers. Any, I repeat any NFL quarterback can make those throws when they have time.

  27. Lol, Suggs is dumber than a bag of rocks!

Take away Ray Lewis…and noone would even know this clown. Kinda reminds me of receiver who used to play opposite of Michael Irvin,,,the great Alvin Harper…He signed his ‘deal’ w/Tampa…and did zero…Was nothing w/o Irvin.

Suggs just a complete moron…..Just missing Joey Porter as his bookend.

  28. Best part about Terrell Suggs snubbing Brady is that he chose Fitzpatrick over Joe Flacco. He’s being spiteful by not voting Brady. By putting Fitzpatrick over Flacco, he’s basically saying his QB is terrible.

  29. I think Suggs has a man crush on Brady. My guess is that he may have “approached” Brady for a little loving maybe, and Brady turned him down. So now, Suggs is like the kid in school who asked a girl out, the girl says no, and then the kid spreads rumors around school about that girl because she turned him down. In my neighborhood, Suggs would be considered a “player hater”.

  30. and he honestly thinks Ryan Fitzpatrick had a better season? ok??
his probowl voting skills match his ability to choose a good shaving razor.

  31. Are they voting for Homecoming King or the Pro Bowl?

This is business/professional, not personal, Mr. Suggs. If you can’t separate the two concepts, you don’t deserve a vote.

  32. There has been a problem between Brady and the Ravens for over a year now.
Ravens thought Brady kept working the refs looking for roughing the passer calls in 2009 regular season game that Pats won. One instance was caught on TV. In one case Brady did get a roughing the passer call and the Ravens and their bench went crazy. Since then Ravens have had a thing for Brady.
Ravens are 1-6 life time against Brady and Pats but that one win was last year in the playoffs.

  33. Who really cares? If this is his opinion, so be it. Will the world collapse upon itself if Brady isn’t considered a pro-bowler in everyone’s eyes?

  34. Tom Lady gets all the votes from the Cheatriot homers who condone cheating. Big deal.

She is probably despised as much by other players in the league as she is by non-Cheatriot fans.

  35. If Sanchez, Roethlisberger or any other QB in the league could do what Brady does, they would.

    Sissy offense…please fool!

You nailed it!! IF, but they can’t!! Sanchez has dreams of managing a game like Brady! Ben’s won a super bowl, so I give him the respect he deserves.

  36. People, people people, it is only trash talk! I think we all know that the Patriots and Ravens don’t like each other. I am a Ravens fan, and I respect Brady’s body of work. I think it was Brady that started the trash talking by suggesting that the Ravens can’t beat them. So please lighten up and become a fan…lol
The rivalry is healthy for the league and the fan.

This is hands down the DUMBEST comment I’ve ever read on here.

Nah, he doesn’t despise Tom. He is acting like a little girl in love with a guy she can’t have.

    What a loser.

  39. Fitzpatrick has had a very solid season, but not enough to unseat Brady. Although, since it’s the Pro Bowl, I’m sure there’s a good chance of one, if not all, of these QB’s no-showing, so Fitzpatrick will be there as an alternate.

  40. Cheer up Suggs, I am sure if your team gets lucky enough to make the playoffs and meet the Pats, I am sure Brady will sign your poster this time.

    Madden 10? How profound.

  42. Two points with this story:

    1. You will never hear who Brady voted for because it isn’t smart to make a story for the opposition. The Patriots get this idea, don’t create bulletin board material just for the sake of pissing people off.

    2. Telling the world that you voted for Ryan Fitzpatrick over Brady is just not a good way to make yourself look intelligent. The next thing you know, we will be discussing if the players are smart enough to have a vote in the Pro bowl process.

  43. Can we please file this in the “who cares?” section of PFT. If that is his opinion, fine.
Look…. I can’t stand Brady (and the Pats for that matter) but he has 3 rings. The guy can play. End of story.

Can you please post that stat?

The Ravens has the best defense in NFL history, but they just can’t get to the Super Bowl anymore.

    That must hurt really bad.

  45. “checkdown” passer. You’re even more retarded then Suggs himself! Was he a “checkdown” passer when Moss wanted to actually play? He’s a 3 time SB Champ, MVP(2nd one is on the way), most td’s in a season(50), and has a victoria secret model sucking him off! You’re gonna feel real bad when they trade for Fitz this offseason as well. Suck a dick and keep parading behind whatever pile of garbage team you follow.

  46. It’s obvious, that Suggs is jealous of Brady’s success. Suggs is looking for attention and is making a fool of himself. Actually, he is a fool !

  47. Brady’s 4th in the league in yards per attempt, at 7.9. What’s with all the comments about his passes being “long hand-offs”? It’s simply not true.

  48. I don’t know if someone with the handle ‘bone*suggs*nharmony’ is capable of being entirely objective on an article like this.

  49. Who cares about these subjective honors that do not mean crap. The only honor that matters in the NFL in the Lombardi Trophy. I am sure Peyton would trade a few of his honors for a SB victory. Suggs is jerk much the same as his coach and his Patriot hating owner. The one who will take all his pals from Jupiter Hills to the game except the Patriot fans in his club. He hates to see them smile when they beat his ass at golf and when his team of loudmouth, blame the ref losers blow another game.

  50. Take away Ray Lewis…and noone would even know this clown. Kinda reminds me of receiver who used to play opposite of Michael Irvin,,,the great Alvin Harper…He signed his ‘deal’ w/Tampa…and did zero…Was nothing w/o Irvin.
    ————————————————–
I don’t understand how you can say this. Ray Lewis is OK at best these days. Suggs at times has been unblockable and this has nothing to do with the MLB.

Playing with Ngata is the real reason why he is playing so well. Has nothing to do with old ass Lewis, but nice try.

  51. Fro all of you idiots (your stupidity is matched only by Suggs) who say any QB could do what Brady does in that system with a good o-line – why don’t more teams use the same “long hand-off” system? I guess you’re saying that Belichick is the only coach smart enough to figure it out. I’m sure BB appreciates your praise.

  52. I would love to see Suggs back up those words and blast Brady into next week – if they meet in the playoffs …..but Brady is having an extremely good season overall (unfortunately).

  53. This is what happens when you live in the shadow of Pro Bowler Ray Lewis. Before you know it Suggs will be singing Toby Keiths ” I Ain’t As Good As I Once Was”

  54. Brady has to be a pro-bowler simply because of his numbers.

    —————————————

Yeah, he’s only in the top-3o ever for Yards per Attempt for his career, with the best TD-INT ratio ever. Not that impressive.

And clearly he must rely on the immense offensive talent he’s spend most of his career surrounded by. You know, the guys who had so much success after they left the Pats: Deion Branch, David Givens, Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney, Troy Brown.

It’s not like he was minutes away from guiding the ’06 Pats to the Super Bowl with Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell as his two best receivers.

Oh right, he’s just relied on that awesome running game to set up his passes. Corey Dillon, BJGE, Lawrence Maroney, etc. These guys are clearly elite.

Jesus christ what you said is one of the stupidest things that has ever been posted in the comments section of this blog (and there is a lot of stupid stuff posted here). Brady’s YPA is in-line with the greatest “gunslingers” out there. It’s not like he’s had guys who are incredible after the catch his entire career — that has really only been the case in ’07, ’09, ’10.

OOOOhh, speaking of 2007. Who did he bomb 24 TDs to that year? Randy Moss? The guy who doesn’t do anything other than run 50+ yard routes?

Seriously, you’re a moron. Hate him, but give him credit where credit is due. Like most smart people do.

  55. Suggs should disparage Belichick and Kraft too if he can because I would have a better chance to make the Pats roster than Mr illiterate Thuggs Suggs.

  56. Suggs is an absolute idiot, he proves it everytime he speaks.

I love the people on here talking about Brady only throwing check downs. He is tied for 4th in the league for avg yards per pass. Peyton (everyones baby) is 17th.

Continue to try and discredit Brady’s accomplishments because you dont like him personally, or because you are jealous, a homer, etc. But you make yourself look foolish when you try to argue that he is overrated or isnt very good. If what he does is so easy why dont more people do it?

  57. Hey Ray! There’s a message in my Alpha Bits!
    It says, ‘Ooooooo.’

Long hand-offs? Tom Brady is ranked 4th in the league as far as yards per attempt. Ahead of Drew Brees (15th), Peyton Manning (20th) and Ben Roethlisberger (6th). Oh, and tied for 1st for TD passes (tied with Brees who also has 19 interceptions). Oh, and for all those people talking about the superiority of NE O-line, Brady has been sacked 24 times, more times then Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Eli Manning, and Drew Brees.

  61. Maybe Suggs just googled ‘Tom Brady combine photo’ and started laughing so hard that he realized Brady was really a woman with small breasts.

  62. I thought Terrell’s last name was Owens? 🙂

Suggs is just lighting a fire under Brady’s ass. As a Pats fan, I hope they don’t meet in the playoffs.

  63. The only thing worse than Terrell Suggs’ opinion on QBs is Michael Silver’s journalistic “ethics”

  64. What was it Uncle Junior said to Tony Soprano that ticked him off so much ? “You’re not good enough for the varsity.”

  65. Just like most NFL fans, I can’t stand Tom Brady Brady either, and can also agree that he is the king of the dink and dunk spread offense. Still, he does throw a nice deep ball at times, and his numbers are obviously Pro-Bowl worthy. To say he doesn’t belong in the Pro-bowl, is just absurd.

  66. …and I also assume that Suggs thinks Roseanne Barr is better looking than Megan Fox. Baltimore, is he actually mentally ill or just as intelligent as a quart of oil?

    ________________________________

Hey sh*t-for-brains, Brady didn’t cheat. You think he had anything to do with the improper positioning of the sideline cameras? What a MORON you are.

  68. Love me some Suggs!! Tell it like it is!!! Overated Brady is, for those who say nay, one can only say Matt Cassell. Proof it is the system, dummy.

  69. @patriotgame

I’m a dope? Brady is running a modified West Coast offense. It’s the sissiest offense ever in the history of the game. It made Matt Hasselbeck look good for a season or two.

My point was that it’s a high percentage passing offense, and Brady currently has a mediocre completion percentage.

80% of his passes at 2-10 yards, that the receiver turns into big gains. With an offense like that, Brady’s completion percentage should be should be 10-15 points higher than it is.

The fact that it isn’t, leads me to believe that he is overrated. He’s good, no doubt. One of the best in the league even. But his numbers are skewed because of that offense.

    You’re just a homer.

  70. tireswing26

Do you watch football? His signature play is a three step drop and a quick out to Wes Welker that he turns into a 15 yard gain.

It’s a legitimate 7.9 yards per attempt that isn’t skewed by a combination of short and long passes.

And I was referring to this year, not 2007. 2007 shouldn’t even count because he had Randy Moss who allowed Daunte Culpepper pass for the second most yards in NFL history. Where’s Culpepper? Where’s Brad Johnson? He made Randall Cunningham a better passer than he really was, too.

Here’s my point–He runs a modified West Coast, which is a high percentage passing offense. His completion percentage is mediocre in today’s NFL.

And I never denied that Brady was good. I just said he was overrated, just like every other player in the NFL. If a player is good, everyone treats him like he’s Jesus.

And don’t give me that crap about him doing it with no-namers. The Patriots’ offense never put up gaudy numbers until 2007. Up to that point, their defense was constantly a top 10 defense. Guys like Troy Brown and Deion Branch were never great, but they were always solid. Corey Dillion also set the single game-rushing record.

    Those guys weren’t nobodies .

And not to belabor the point, but they WERE cheating during those years. They wouldn’t have done it, unless they gained a competitive advantage. If it helped them get one extra yard on the field, it still gave them an advantage.

I don’t think Goodell would have destroyed the evidence if it didn’t help them either. I think it must have really destroyed the integrity of the game, so it would have been a gigantic black-eye to the league if it got out.

Brady has one exactly zero superbowls since.

Before you start crying about that, I completely believe that they will win this year, and there will be no taint on it. But don’t overlook who good those receivers and tight ends are; they are just as integral to the superb numbers that Brady is putting up as Brady is himself.

  71. I think this is jealousy, but not of Brady or the Patriots, so much as Adailius Thomas. The Ravens have had a very good D system (Ryan’s). Few have performed well individually and consistently outside of it.

To the people who say a good O-line diminishes a QB? No, it diminishes an opposing defense, and if your team doesn’t have a good O-line of it’s own, you have bad coaching or personnel management. A QB who performs with a bad O-line does go above and beyond, but it’s a foolish thing to try and take away. It’s won at the line.

YAC helps too. It adds an extra dimension, and you want as many attack dimensions as possible. Again, stinks to be without it.

If you’re going to project perceptive ease against someone or some team, look at the strength of schedule at the end of the season. BAL beating NO is impressive. BAL getting beat by PIT ATL and NE tells a story, which depending on how things go may be better told by wins against some horrible teams, a lack of offense, and letting some bum teams hang around…

  72. As far as Brady being overrated, he is, but only a little. Some INT have been dropped, a lot actually, and I think this years Ratio is skewed by luck. I think last year was in a way more impressive for Brady where he was successful while rusty, with a bad O-line (green tackles for most of it), Terrible playcalling, and a thinned receiver core (aging Moss, Rookies Tate and Edelmann, and an until recently useless Ben Watson). Also a crappy running game last year. This year’s running game is greatly improved by the elimination of Maroney, who was a world class screw up, and the addition of Woodhead, who has more skill and talent than the build for it. Good coaching and team management. Add two unnaturally great rookie TE’s and you’re making trouble for people.
Not even going to get into the defensive miracle that is happening here.

  73. Actually, I used to think Terrel Suggs was a moron who hated Brady. I’ve come to realize he’s simply realistic. He knows that with the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl that no player playing in the Super Bowl will be able to play in the Pro Bowl. So, why waste a vote on a guy he knows won’t be able to play in the game?

Suggs is actually showing Brady and the Patriots the greatest respect his brontosaurus-sized brain can muster, and using every cell in that brain to figure out who to vote for.

Way to go Suggs! All this time you fooled us into thinking you hated Brady with the weekly trash talk about him. Little did we know that you talk about him so much because you are in love with him…

Brady’s 2010 average QB rating vs the NFL: 114.7

Brady’s 2010 QB Rating vs the Ravens: 69.5

    Suggs has a point.

    ———————-

Actually, you do a great job of illustrating what is wrong with Suggs’ view. If Suggs argues that the stats show Brady isn’t that great…

With a 69.5 QB rating in the game against the Ravens, Brady was behind 20-10 with just over 4 minutes to play. He led 2 scoring drives to force overtime, then led another drive to win 23-20. But his QB ranking sucked, so I guess it would have been better to have Jay Cutler or Rivers that week? Phillip Rivers had a better game that week, but lost to the Rams. Cutler had a better week but lost to the Seahawks. For that matter Manning did have a better game… and pulled off a near loss against the hapless Redskins.

With so much certainty that the Ravens would be Super Bowl contenders against the Jets in the preseason, and so much certainty that the Patriots were rebuilding this year without a run game, O line, Defense or depth at receiver, which team leads the league in wins? Which teams are contending for a wild card spot?

  75. Maybe Suggs thinks that since Brady won’t be playing in the Pro Bowl because he’ll be playing the following week in the Super Bowl that he’d just be wasting his vote.

    Nah! He’s not that smart.

    @ knowerofallthings

Your name obviously doesn’t fit. How can Suggs own Brady when Brady has lost to the Ravens only once in his career (6-1?)? I think it’s the other way around, dumbass.

  76. terrell suggs … you … you … you aren’t very smart, are you? any idiot can see that TB is not only going to be named to the Pro Bowl, he’s probably the league MVP.

check that — I guess there’s one idiot out there who can’t see it: Terrell Suggs.

  77. Brady is over rated. He throws little slants and the receivers do the rest he isn’t anywhere as good as everyone thinks he is. He is no where near the level of manning or brees. He throws the ball 5 yards and they run for 15 yards thats where all his stats come from

  78. johntonioholmes – you continue to accuse the Patriots of cheating.

Specifics, please – what did they do, who did, it where and when was it done?

    along with PROOF

hint “everybody knows” is NOT considered proof.

    –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Wow, a sensible, cool Ravens fan…will wonders never cease? 🙂
Sticking up for guys who do and say dumbass things just because they are on the team you root for and not because they are actually in the right is stupid.

Even though I am a Pats fan I would actually like Fitzy to get into the Pro Bowl. As someone else pointed out, Brady won’t go anyway and it’s fun to see the first time guys there. They are usually so excited to be there and the guy is easy to root for when he isn’t playing the Pats.

  80. Wow..Doesn’t this prove the point of overboard favortism to Tom Brady. My goodness we can’t have another player not accept how great Tom Brady is. We must have agreement from everybody, that Tom is best. Why isn’t Terrell entitled to have his own opinion? Why can’t that opinion be based on the fact that simply Tom didn’t vote for him, so I am not voting for Tom?

Instead…oh lets rush in to protect boy wonder Tom. Lets call anything a penalty that the wuss Tom wants to call as a foul?

No wonder Brady gets the protection from the Refs and so many phantom calls “ie tuck rule”. The fans won’t even let one player have his own opinion about Brady that contradicts Tom’s reality.

  81. we’ll being a colts fan i hate tom brady too, but you have to give credit where credit is due and he is one hell qb, suggs who, is talking trash when they beat the pats 1 in 9 years, and then attacked peyton manning who is 9-0 against the ravens

  82. um, i think your bulb is fading as well. he lists the 3 afc qb’s he voted for, and brees plays in the nfc. (the afc plays the nfc in the pro bowl)

additionally, suggs only mention of brees was last week saying he’s better than manning and brady…which really isn’t a stretch.

    Buddy
I would say putting brees ahead of Manning and Brady is a stretch!!
For 4 years the chargers tried to dump Brees and eventually let him go for nothing. Drew Brees has become a star playing in a “Dome” in a weak division. If you want to question how good somebody is look at Drew Brees !! His passer ratting falls off a clif as soon as he steps out of that dome.
Quarterbacks that play in domes have a huge advantage over QB’s that play outside. Especially over the QB’s that play in warm climates. Interesting how Brees suddenly became a “Star” when he stepped inside a Dome?????????

    Seriously???? I mean, seriously?

I have two issues with your post.

#1–This is probably the first time that I’ve ever mentioned on PFT that the Patriots cheated. I haven’t “continued” to “accuse” them of it. (It’s also not an accusation if it has been proven.)
I never had to mention it simply because IT’S COMMON KNOWLEDGE.

#2–Belichick was fined $500,000 for the incident and the Patriots’ organization was fined another $250K.

If they didn’t cheat, why were they punished?

The only reason why I can’t produce tangible evidence is because Goodell DESTROYED THE TAPES!

Goodell wouldn’t have discarded the evidence unless it was some serious chit.

Dear, god, I hope you were just being sarcastic when you posted that. Otherwise, you’re just another patsie fan in denial.

Unlike the league, I disdain cheating. I even take tampering charges seriously.

  84. As a fan, I have my opinion, but the pro bowl opinions of players that actually play for or against their peers, has far more credibility and any opinion we may have.

  85. @johntonioholmes

You ask why the Pats were punished. IMO, and ONLY IMO, Goodell punished the Pats severely simply because BB “challenged his manhood”. Goodell put the word out to the league (it was a league wide issue not just a Patriot one) to stop the practice. When he got tested as the “new sherriff in town” (2007 was Goodell’s first year as Commish), he had to back up his words not only because he was challenged but also because he had implemented the new player conduct policy, which the players raised an eyebrow at because they had concerns about if it applied to management conduct as well. Would management be punished too if it violated the conduct code? As it turns out, the 1st round pick they lost only became a 1st round pick because they made the playoffs. If the Pats did not make the playoffs in 2007, then they would have lost a 2nd round pick. So, the Pats were actually punished more severely for having success without the video. Go figure.

As for why Goodell destroyed the tapes, he already addressed the issue. One of the tapes he had was leaked to the media (Jay Glazer to be specific). Glazer aired it on tv. If you dig hard enough, you can still find it on the internet. Goodell destroyed the rest because he had a mole in his office who leaked it. He didn’t want anything else out there. AND, since there was already a copy out in the open, he said that he saw no reason to keep the rest. He also said at his state of the league address before SB 42 that the tapes did NOT contribute to any of the Pats SB wins and provided very little if any competitive advantage at all.

Again, this is just my opinion regarding the why about the punishment, and I did do some research about why Goodell destroyed the tapes.

My only hope is that IF you take cheating seriously, then you hold Jimmy Johnson’s Cowboys to the same standard since he admitted doing the same thing as Belichick. Same with the Jets since they were caught taping at Gillette during the 2006 playoffs and lied about it. If you consider tampering cheating, the I assume you consider salary cap violations cheating as well. If so, I hope you hold the Denver Broncos and SF 49ers to the same standard too. Also, those 2 teams were fined MORE by the league for their cap violations than the Pats were. I also hope you consider steroid use cheating. If so, then you better hold the Steelers 70s teams to the same standard because as you said, you disdain cheating.

I bet you don’t watch college football or basketball either because ALL of the top programs cheat.

  86. I wouldnt even know this turd is in the nfl unless I see his “name” in a comment reguarding brady.
perhaps he should send brady a thank you card in the unlikely event he makes some sort of name for himself. If he wants fame and name recognition, he may concider entering the ugliest dog competition… he could be a super star

  87. What an idiot. Ryan Fitzpatrick??? I really hope the Rats and Pats meet up in the divisional round. There’s a ton of hate there.

    Classic, just classic bro

  89. Yes…I’m a Raven fan. But TSiz….you need to STFU!!! And I do think that Brady is a whining, sniveling punk….like the gilr that he is! With all that said though…the Wussy is a great QB that certainly deserves a pro bowl nod! As far as the rest of you Patsies posting….stop with all the BS because deep down you know that you DO NOT want to see that purple and black roll back into your town again this post season! If we do….we WILL punk your sorry arses again just as we did last January! It’ll be the same story line…..you ‘barely’ beat us in the regular season….but get seriously ‘punked’ by the same ‘Ratbirds’ in the post season!!!! Enjoy that No. 1 seed while you can!

  90. All that needs to be said about Suggs comments is that he voted for Ryan Fitzpatrick over Brady!!

After last Sunday’s five turnover exhibition against the Pats (Brady has 4 turnovers all year). There is nobody in Buffalo that isn’t dying to get Fitzpatrick out of town.

Nice going Terrell !! Great talent evaluation !!

Oh and bye the way Brady said he did vote for Suggs for Pro Bowl.
Brady is not only great but also classy !!

Love how confident those Ratbird fans are with their 1-6 lifetime record against the Pats !!
Frankly I expect Manning and the Colts to chew them up and spit them out long before Pats even see them in the playoffs.

  91. @ micktanner

Pats fan here. I will surprise you. I said that I didn’t want to play the Ravens in the playoffs last year. I don’t want to see them this year either.

But, with regards to the game earlier this year, didn’t the Ravens have a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter? What happened?

  92. @ bcgreg

Different team now brother….they have found their identity that for some reason they forgot all about earlier in the season, seems that our coach fell in love with the pass the ball 40+ times and run it 15-20 times mentality…now…we will pound that ball down the oppositions throat with that three headed monster and set up that pass for when needed. Oh….you DON’T want see the purple and black attack come to Foxboro and match up with your very average D!!! Happy New Year my friend….you’ll looking forward to the baseball season soon!!!

  93. BCGREG

If you pound the ball you have a chance against both the Colts and the Patriots. Run defense is the weak link for both the Pats and Colts. If Flacco decides to try to pass with Manning or Brady Ratbirds are Dead Pigeons but if you run the ball and control the clock you have a chance.
Still don’t like your chances against the Colts in a Dome but I hope you win. Most Patriots fans want no part of Manning. We will take our chances with Flacco, Suggs and Lewis. Almost any AFC team has a decent chance this year.
    Enjoy the playoffs

10 years later and people are still complaining about that?! Whether you like it or not the tuck rule is a legitimate rule of the game. Apparently BB is the only coach in the league smart enough to know about it so he threw the challenge flag. The rule is real so the Patriots won the challenge. They were still down by three points…played well enough in a blizzard to score not once but twice against the Raiders to win that game. Get over it!

Funny that the 2 teams you all are talking trash about came into NE and ended their season. I love the way 1 person can get a bunch of Brady lovers upset. PRICELESS!!!
