Roddy White takes aim at the Saints

Falcons receiver Roddy White took to Twitter on Wednesday regarding Monday night’s game against the Saints.  Though it has been rendered largely meaningless by the fact that the Falcons need only to beat the Panthers on January 2 to win the division and lock up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, White is fired up about the fact that people are “mad for the saints.”

“The grace of god gave them tht championship so that city wouldn fall apart now and now they they hot shit in my chad voice child please,” White said.

“The saints win one championship and want to go crazy well yall ass aint winning this year we gone make sure tht doesn’t happen,” White added.

White apparently realized that he shouldn’t have said what he said.  But instead of deleting the tweets, he simply asked the local paper not to talk about them.  Later in the day, he asked the folks at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution to give him “a great christmas gift this year and stop posting my tweets.”

Surely, the Falcons can’t be pleased with White’s antics.  Not only does it give the Saints added motivation for Monday night, but it could wake up the giant that won Super Bowl XLIV in time for the defending champs to at some point return to the Georgia Dome and knock out the Falcons in the playoffs.

As if the Falcons didn’t have enough to worry about, what with the prospect of Mike Vick returning in the postseason.

  1. With all due respect, if you don’t want people to publish your tweets, then stop tweeting. People crack me up with this social media thing.

  2. Some of the Saints players had great responses.

Will Smith tweeted this to Roddy: http://twitpic.com/3i9cif

Jonathan Vilma: “U can tell da guys who’ve never had success b4…win a few games and theyre yappin at da mouth. Win a superbowl then come holla at me…”

Roddy talks a lot of smack for a guy with zero rings. The funniest one (besides his whining plea to the AJC) was “The saints win one championship and want to go crazy well yall ass aint winning this year we gone make sure tht doesn’t happen”.

I guess when you haven’t won a Super Bowl, you just can’t know how it feels.

  3. “Stupid is as Stupid does!”
Couldn’t have been a more proper time to make this statement.

  4. Typical. How are the Falcons talking crap when they’ve done nothing in 40 years, let alone talking crap about the superbowl winners??? Hell, weren’t they just celebrating the grand accomplishment of having back to back winning seasons FOR THE FIRST TIME in franchise history after last year??? The Falcons are a joke & they’re frontrunner fans are losers…wait til they go 8-8 next year & struggle to get 40,000 people in the stands. And if they get to NFC title game this year, many of those great fans will be rooting for Vick. Roddy just asked for an ass whiping on monday night.

  5. Oh Roddy… We love you but PLEASE just let the play on the field do the talking. The Saints earned their championship, now go earn one for yourself and us long-suffering Falcons fans.

  6. Why would a tweet make a team want to try harder? I mean they shouldn’t need the motivation of a little smack talk to play at their highest level….

  7. Rowdy Roddy talks the talk, but lets not ignore the fact that he walks the walk. Would I prefer him to quietly go about his business of being the best receiver in the league? Maybe. But I sure do enjoy all the personal fouls and free yards we get due to opposing DB’s attempt at retaliation. With Jabari Greer hurt, the Saints are going to have to double team him all day. Look out!
    RISE UP!!!!!!!

  8. This is only half the story. Roddy was responding to a video clip by future Hall of Famer, Trent Dilfer, who said that the Saints would beat the Falcons at the Georgia Dome–twice. Roddy was pissed about it and then the Tweet wars began. Sleeping giant? The Saints almost got beat last year by our backup QB and this year got beat in the Superdome.

I think that the Falcons will have Roddy’s back because they know that the country will be watching and the Falcons want to get the respect that they have earned this year for being a very good team. As Ric Flair says, “To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man.” On Monday night, the Falcons will sweep the Super Bowl champs for this year.

  9. love the way PFT will randomly delete comments…

here are the rest of his tweets. english translations provided by the local media:

    # The saints win one championship and want to go crazy well yall ass aint winning this year we gone make sure tht doesn’t happen

Translation: Saints fans will be disappointed that there will not be a Two-Dat.

    # The first time we played them their coach gone say after we won the game thts a good win for yall like the saints are the colts

    Translation: ??

    # The grace of god gave them tht championship so tht city wouldn fall apart now and now they think they hot &*%$ in …

Translation: The Lord intervened, forcing Payton Manning to throw the pick-six to Tracy Porter in a divine effort to help the city finally turn the corner after Katrina. The Saints fans, however, have fallen prey to their own hubris.

    # I don’t know why everybody mad for the saints I made a comment on wht trent dilfer said on tv it had nothing to do with them

Translation: My Shakespearean-type prose was directed at an ESPN analyst, not the Who Dat Nation.

    # Yall fans keep talking making it worst for those guys tht got to guard me cause yall don’t lol

Translation: Saints fans will make it tougher for the Black & Gold secondary to catch me, boisterous outburst of laughter at my own sally.

    # The aints fans are so rude we shall see monday night

Translation: I am shocked, shocked and hurt I say, by the level of animosity directed my way. May the best team win on MNF.

    # @mlattechocolate who dat we dat believe dat we been ready

Translation: (Tweet directed at mlattechocolate) : In response to your query, “who is that team which will beat the Saints,” I honestly believe the Falcons will be that team. We are well-prepared.

    # No chance in hell the Aints come into the dome and win once trent dilfer

Translation: I believe that ESPN’s Trent Dilfer has mis-judged our resolve. Just as the stock market will always climb, we shall never lose at home in the Georgia Dome.

  10. “The Saints almost got beat last year by our backup QB and this year got beat in the Superdome.”

The Saints were also missing BOTH starting CBs. I love how you Falcon fans always forget that part.

The saints have dealt with tons of injuries to starters the past 2 years and have still won 26 total games. Atlanta has been almost completely healthy this season; I’d love to see how well they’d do if they ever had to go multiple games without several starters.

  11. Be careful man – like they said in the DirecTV commercial: a dirty bird can’t fly with a broken wing.

  12. “The Saints almost got beat last year by our backup QB…”

so what you’re saying is that Matt Ryan isn’t all that, he’s just in a good system. i agree…

  13. I completely agree with this story. These tweets are going to fire up the saints. The sleeping giants will be down by 3 in the fourth quarter and Drew Brees will say ” Hey guys lets go!!!!, dont you remember what Roddy White tweeted about us 4 days ago. We will not lose because of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  14. Roddy, just curious, are you going to actually show up when it matters or go MIA again?

I’m not a Saints fan, but damn this dude is stupid.

  15. That’s really disappointing. I generally take pride in the fact that Falcons players don’t tend to grab headlines for anything negative. Perhaps he forgot what he did to the Bengals after Chad Johnson clowned on the Falcons secondary…

Less noise, more numbers. This is not the time of the year to let your mouth overload your canary ass…

    =========
If Trent Dilfer’s unimpressive football career means his opinion is without merit, why would Roddy White even bother responding to him? Skip Bayless predicted the Saints to lose every week last year and none of our players ever called him out or trashed their upcoming opponent. Every single week, there is going to be an analyst who says this team will lose – is Roddy White going to lash out at every single one of them? His tweets were stupid, end of story.

    ==========
As others have pointed out, we were missing starting CBs; the week prior to that game, Jason Campbell and the Redskins scored the most points they had all year on our back-ups. Do you really want to hang your hat on that? We got them back for the playoffs and you know what happened there.

  17. Everybody and their mother knows that Iliter-Roddy White is the king of pass interference and pushing off. TRUST! This will be a totally different ballgame, now that all weapons will be locked and loaded. It’s funny how Falcon fans seem to forget that we didnt have all starters healthy then. Remember the only thing that stood between the Saints and The “Broken Wings”, is a field goal. Saints fans, this comment by Iliter-Roddy White is nothing more than a tactic to shake off nervousness or the heart pounding anxiety attacks that he has thinking about what’s coming Monday night. Until that clown in a Falcon uniform gets a Superbowl ring, he should spend his down time reading and writing, or better yet getting hooked on phonics.

  18. As a Saints fan, it’s hard for me to believe that a Falcons team that is 18th in the league in pass defense (avg yards per attempt) can win it all. I’m not going trash talk and say the Saints will kick their butts, etc. It may be the Falcons’ year, but teams with a pass defense that gives up more (avg yards per attempt) than it gains don’t win championships. Saints D may have been 25th overall last year, but even its pass defense was much better than this. The Eagles exploited the Falcons weakness at safety and ran away in a route. Somebody, maybe the Saints, maybe not, but somebody will expose them again before it’s all over.

  19. You can tell he’s a real intelligent person by the way he writes and also his expectations that the newspaper won’t publish his tweets.
Even if the Saints don’t beat them Monday, they won’t make it to the Superbowl with jackwagon’s like this spouting out that kinda garbage.
    Way to stay humble Roddy.

  20. So Roddy…got any videos (wink wink) out there we may not want to see?
I’m a Pats fan but I am pretty sure that Coach Smith will not be happy about this. He strikes me as a pretty darned good HC who likes to keep his team and players focused and out of all that trash talking mess.
No it probably doesn’t make the other team “try harder”…it just makes the opposition’s victory sweeter for them. Saints players are probably laughing at a guy who hasn’t won anything trash talking (much like we Pats fans do with Suggs and his idiocy). If the Saints do win I hope they rub it in his face big time on the field and he doesn’t puss out like and whine about it like LaComplanian Tomlinson or Suggs.

  21. all saints fans and saints players are talking about we dont know how it feesl to win a superbowl. we will know how it is after this season if the aints can win the falcons can do it easily and we do not need lucky turnovers to win it.

  22. Roddy White, you as a grown man should know that it’s not nice to taunt other grownups especially those who’re a lot bigger and meaner than you; not to mention hungrier than you for another shot at the Super Bowl. Dear Lord, do you not realize that you’re playing with a loaded cannon with the offense that’s come along in the last few weeks? And then you’ve got a defense that can smell an option out that will drive an opposing QB in to a nitemare: don’t believe me just ask the Drama Queen Bret Farve, hahaha. But anyways, keep running your mouth and by Monday morning you’ll be nursing your broken wings and wishing you’d had your mouth duct taped shut. And by the way I’ll gladly eat crow if I need to but I doubt I’ll have to.

    —————————————-

Lucky turnovers? Yep, it’s luck when the defender tries to rip the ball out and it comes out. Or when they jump the route and catch the ball. Pure luck. No skill involved.

If only they could learn how to get gift calls late in the game like Atlanta. Now THAT’S skill.

  24. Im a Saints one thing you dont say is never say never you can call it luck you can call it Gods Grace I would not want it any other way who would not want Gods Grace a Foolish man like Klame 100. Rody white is a foolish man also WAKE UP FOOL.

  25. We have skills too ripping the ball from another player that,s football all teams do that at some point and time a win is a win Atlanta is not blowing anybody out of the stadium stop your f..in hating then Rody talks about a City that,s been through so much watch out Gods is watching people lost there lives behind this tragedy it,s not funny the shoe could be on the other foot. But you know something God Bless you anyway and your run to the Superbowl. I,m a Saints Fan and I Love them.

  26. How did that trash talk work out for you Roddy? Were you even on the field tonight? LMAO.

  27. Just another “Falclown” with a big mouth…. Hey Roddy, Keep up the sh!t talk ….. I see it works for ya’! otflmao You better buy your ticket to the Super Bowl because thats the only way your going!!!!!!
