Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has missed practice on several Wednesdays this year, due to injured body parts.
He missed practice on Wednesday because he has the flu, per Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com. (We know we really don’t need to give guys credit for stuff in the league-issued injury report, but we were too lazy to pick through Wednesday’s edition of it.)
Reiss points out that the team moved Brady’s weekly press conference from Wednesday to Thursday, and Brady’s illness likely was the reason for the shift.
It’s good that they did it, otherwise the event may have looked like a certain Japanese state dinner circa 1992.
The next question becomes whether and to what extent the bug makes its way to other players on the team before Sunday’s game against the Bills. The Patriots need one more win to nail down home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
