Sam Bradford “not surprised at all” Rams on verge of playoffs

sambradford2

The Rams are one win away from the playoffs, one year after going 1-15, making St. Louis one of the pleasant surprises of the 2010 NFL season.

But Rams rookie quarterback Sam Bradford says he sees no reason to be surprised.

“I’m really not surprised at all,” Bradford said on 101 ESPN in St. Louis, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “Obviously, I knew coming into this situation, there had been some tough times here. To me, I looked at it as a fresh start. I hadn’t been here in the past. This team was different. We were a new team this year. We started the year just like anybody else. 0-0. It doesn’t matter what we had done the previous year, what we had done the previous three years.”

As I wrote in today’s Wall Street Journal, if the Rams beat the Seahawks on Sunday Bradford will join Atlanta’s Matt Ryan and Baltimore’s Joe Flacco as the only rookie quarterbacks to start all 16 games for a playoff team. Bradford might not consider it a surprise that he’s close to playing in the postseason, but you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone else who predicted eight months ago that Bradford would have the Rams on the verge of the playoffs.
