Favre fails concussion test on Wednesday

A day after rookie quarterback Joe Webb led the Vikings to a win in his first career start, veteran quarterback Brett Favre failed another neurological exam following the concussion he suffered when his head struck the field of frozen broccoli at TCF Bank Stadium earlier this month.

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Favre failed the test on Wednesday afternoon.

And now we know why coach Leslie Frazier has said that Favre will start on Sunday at Detroit if he’s healthy.

Frazier knows Favre won’t be healthy.

  1. Quid Pro Quo ……. Roger slaps Favre with a $1.98 fine and no suspension, in exchange for Favre slinking off into the sunset with a “concussion”.

He’s gone for good this time

  2. Favre should NOT start even if he is healthy enough to. He is done and should have sat down long ago. Webb played very well for a first start and should get a second start for him as a future Viking and the TEAM as a whole. Favre is not going to be part of the team going forward thus there is no reason for him to be out there.

  3. my continued question to everyone is: when do you think the last time favre could pass a concussion test was?

  4. I got the vibe from Frazier that Favre wouldn’t be healthy, this is great news for Vikings fans.

  5. Why do they want to play an old, concussed Favre even if he can pass the test? Webb just gave them a great win and performed very well against a high pressure Philly defense.

  6. Lions are done now. Thanks brett, you just made viking fans very happy. Webb beat the eagles in his first start, lets see what he can do when he starts getting comfortable with his team. Hopefully he shows that he should start over tarvaris jackson next season

  7. Frazier knows Favre won’t be healthy.

Maybe the New Year will bring you the ability not to make assumptions since Santa didn’t!

Your mancrush with Favre is getting a bit ridiculous!!!!

  8. Since the Bills Player Arthur Moats hit him, he’s been weak. The rest you can chalk up to anything you want.

  9. Webb really impressed me out there Tuesday night. Accuracy, a cannon for an arm, mobile and awareness. Give him another shot this week. Thanks for the memories Favre, although I have always been a Vikes fan, can never say that I didnt respect your ability when it came time to the Vikes playing you.

  10. Whatever. Once the streak was over so was his motivation to play. If ever a more selfish player walked the Earth I don’t know who it was. Hopefully now that he’s made a complete fool of himself he’ll finally go away. Ugh… just a disgusting person… ugh.

  11. That makes alot more sense than actually playing Favre. If Frazier had started Favre this coming Sunday, he’d be the one needing the neurological test.

  12. Favor would have flunked a concussion test at the beginning of the year if they had given him one. He has been brain dead for years.

  13. Which head was concussed? The big ugly one on his shoulders or the little “brett” head he sent to Jen Sterger? Ha Ha. What a dweeb. A grown man in his 40s with a grandchild and he sends a leud picture to an attractive adult woman in an effort to woo her. Come on. Thats worse than high school tactics. Be a man. Walk right up to her when nobody is around and confidently say “hi, my name is Brett; you are absolutely adorable and i’d love to take a shower with you sometime.” It’s that easy dawg. Well, it is for me anyway. And i ain’t all that attractive but i am one charming rascal. Brett is a pervy stalker. Ha Ha. Geaux Saints!

  14. And there you have it… Forever frozen in time- Lord Favre’s head banging against the semi-frozen tundra at the Gopher Hut. K.O.’d by a rookie DT from Northwestern no less… What a way to go out.

Oh well, at least Peppers and co. will go out and win one for the Farver on Sunday. BEAR DOWN!

  15. .
favre most likely could never pass one of these.
and when he pulled a ronald reagan when questioned over sterger it wasnt his fault he couldnt remember so give his $50k back and fine her….
    and where are her pics?

  16. Please Lord Farve, take your tiny little penis and head into sunset never to be seen and PLEASE PLEASE never to be heard from again.

You are a primed example of a beloved public figure who has utterly and totally destroyed his legacy to become a pathetic, ridiculous, cartoonish characterization of yourself.

No one wants to hear from Farve anymore except the mediots who still constantly wash his balls. Just go home and never come back.

  17. Just for those who are not aware, here is what the test consists of:

    Doctor: “is this your phone?”

    Favre: “Yeah.”

Doctor: “Is this a picture of your junk on your phone?”

    Favre: “Yeah.”

Doctor: “So how did this picture get to Jen Sterger’s phone?”

    Favre: “I have no idea”

    Doctor: “Epic fail.”

  18. Salmen says:

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Dude, that may work in the shower room at your local YMCA, but it doesn’t work with, you know, women.
Just because your boyfreinds think your charming doesn’t mean eveyone else does.

  19. My guess is he’ll past the test on Monday morning. Just before the retirement press conference. With Goodell by his side.

  20. Leave the poor guy alone everyone. They probably ask really tough questions during a concussion test.

    1) How much older is Jenn Sterger than your daughter?
    2) Follow-up question: Do you think that’s creepy?
    3) Are you married? For how long?
    4) Follow-up question: How much longer for, you figure?

You see. Easy to fail a concussion test. He probably just refused to answer half the questions.

  21. I read all 26 comments on here so far. A grand total of ONE was intelligent. 3 were okay. The other 22 comments were idiotic. The point is, it’s getting very hard to read this website; it’s become a playground for adolescent juvenile punks to run their stupid potty-mouthes. At least I HOPE these comments are from little kids. I’d hate to think anyone over 16 could be this stupid. Favre was the best thing to happen to Vikings fans for a long time. This year was lousy, but it wasn’t his fault. We had a terrible coach, no o-line, and all our receivers were injured. I hope Favre comes back next year, even if as a backup or in mid-season.

  22. It’s kind of a shame that it had to come to this for this guy’s career to be over. He should have retired the FIRST time around, when he left Green Bay, when he still had some credibility and respect to his name. Sure, he had a great year last year, but this season has done nothing but throw dirt on the legacy of a guy who -like it or not- will be in the Hall of Fame.

Now, people will not only remember Favre as “the gunslinger” but as the guy who sent pictures of his wang to a sidelines hooker and who needed a seasonful of injuries to force him into retirement. You should have quit while you were ahead Brett.

  23. somebody want to tell captain marvel that this is the same team the vikings had last year.and they paid favre 20 mil to come back to finish the job he could not do last year and he failed miserably as well as the rest of the team.so yea I would say it was his fault they sucked. well that and the fact BEARS were the best team in the division this year!

I hope you keep licking his sack clean…

  25. Favre was the Vikings savior just 2 short years ago but then the team fell short. So this year the guys go to his home and beg him to come back. So he plays with more injuries than anyone would expect from even a guy half his age. His O-line wasn’t much help and the running game was just so so. Favre then has to try and make things happen.
Now it’s like all of you that were thrilled to get him have nothing but High School comments for a guy that is one of the best to ever play the game.
Thank goodness he will go into the Hall of Fame as a Packer.

    ====================
    Dumb dumb:
The only reason Vikes fans are telling him to sit is because the season is lost and we want to see what Webb can do, there is no reason for him to play. I say if he is able to, let him play a few series and then let Webb take over. We do appreciate what he did, he’s just not coming back, so why play?
By the way, you are very hard to take too serious when you don’t even know how the hall of fame works. Favre will go in and be listed under the hall of fame for:
    Falcons
    Packers
    Jets
    Vikings

The world wide web is your freind. Use it before you come across as ignorant.

  27. @theoriginalcaptainmarvel
Thank God a voice for poor Bretteney who has never lied or cheated on his wife never blew a big game never threw an interception in an NFC Championship that ultimately cost his team the championship.
Please oh mighty Judge let us know who you think has worthy comments on this thread Please Please Please it would me so much to have your approval.
Wait no it won’t So go buy some $500 footballs commemorating his Starting Streak ending.
Screw the lying, adulterous, choker hope he is remembered for the important thing what a scumbag he really is

  28. @30ptbuck

Don’t be an ass, everyone has their right to an opinion. Ok he lied, and cheated doesn’t mean that he was once a damn good QB. Tigers woods had so many mistresses, doesn’t take away from the fact that hes one of the best golfers in the world. Brett Favre did some good things with the vikings last year and deserves some props, and its undeniable that he did major work with the packs. and btw by saying stupid things, attacking someone with no facts or evidence youre proving captainmarvel’s point. and since your ignorant and words wont get to you heres some stats for yo ass,
from 1994 till last year (excluding 2003), favre threw over 3500 yds
last year he threw 33 TDs and 7 INTs
Favre is the only quarterback to have led a team to victory over all thirty-two teams in the league since the NFL expanded to 32 franchises in 2002
Favre is one of four quarterbacks to lead the league in touchdown passes four times

  29. @swagsuperstar213
FIRST of all theoriginalcaptainmarvel insults almost everyone on this thread. Yes he is entitled to his opinion as I am entitled to mine.
Secondly Where am I attacking with no facts or evidence? Did he or did he not send texts to Sterger? He admitted he did. Has he cheated on his wife? Anybody who has seen his actions in bars around Green Bay know he has!! Did he or did he not throw an interception in the Packers loss to the Giants in the NFC championship game that led to the Giants kicking the game winning field goal? Did he or did he not throw an interception in the Vikings loss to the Saints that lead to OT in which the Saints won? Lying please his whole retirement, unretirement thing he acted like a child. So what if he has beaten all 32 teams the only reason is he lied to get out of Green Bay.
So to use your vernacular here is an assessment for your words against me for yo ass
You are a hypocrite I have a right to my opinion as does everyone else on these forums.
Your arguments about my attacking with no facts or evidence is false. It is also irrelevant because you did nothing to prove I used no facts or evidence. All you did was say how wonderful Brett was for the Vikings for one year in which he said that team was the best team he ever played for yet didn’t even make the Superbowl.
So what if these athletes are great. They are lousy men.
Since you like stats so much here are some for yo ass courtesy of ESPN and this was before choking at the end of the Saints game
Favre’s passer rating in his last 12 postseason games was a pedestrian 77.8. In his last five wild-card games, he went 2-3 with more interceptions (nine) than touchdown passes (seven). In his last three divisional playoff games, he went 1-2 with seven TDs and seven interceptions. That’s a 3-5 record with 14 touchdown passes and 16 picks.

In two of his last four postseason appearances, Favre threw two of the most unthinkable playoff interceptions in NFL history, both in overtime — to Brian Dawkins of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2003 and to Corey Webster of the New York Giants in January. In fact, Favre is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw overtime interceptions in two playoff games. In his last nine playoff games, Favre threw 18 interceptions
So who is the Ignorant one you Favre apologists?
One more question how long is it going to take to get the taste of Favre’s taint out of your mouth
