Lions fine Raiola $15,000 for obscene comment to fan

In January, Jets coach Rex Ryan was off the clock in Miami, at an MMA event.  In response to abuse from Dolphins fans, Ryan flashed his middle finger — and he was fined $50,000 by the team.

On Sunday, Lions center Dominic Raiola yelled an obscene statement (Rosenthal astutely labeled it a “request“) to a Dolphins fan who had paid a ticket to attend a game.  Though the game was over, Raiola was in-season and on the clock.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have fined Raiola $15,000 for his comments.

Raiola didn’t apologize for his comments, stating only that he “paid the price.”

“It’s like when you’re a kid, and you do something wrong, and you get beat up for it, your dad beats you up,” Raiola said. “I got beat up.  I got fined.  Usually, you move on to the next day.”
And, suddenly, we have more insight into what makes Raiola tick than we ever wanted.
I’ll be back in a little while.  My son just spilled some milk.  I need to go beat him up.

  1. Mike, do you actually read the stuff you put out? It seems that you have a strong sense of denial because you have yet to admit that your perspective is not objective….perjuratory at best!

  2. Dad is back. But he can’t type because all of his fingers are broken and he has a milk glass stuck in his ear.

  3. Phillip Rivers yelled f-you to th us and gave us the finger during a 2007 season playoff game. It was shown on camera, and he he wasnt fined a cent.

  4. nbseesnothing says: “What now have insight into the mental defects of Peter Kings favorite foot warmer. Whats a matter i get alittle close to home did he?”

Please don’t breed, vote, handle guns or fireworks, or drive a car.
