When the Pro Bowl was played one week after the Super Bowl, the coaching staffs of the teams that lost in the conference title games also coached the AFC and NFC All-Star teams.

Last year, when the NFL moved the Pro Bowl to the week before the Super Bowl, the assignment went to the teams with the best records that lost in the division round. The Cowboys and Chargers’ coaching staff handled the game.

This year, it’ll be the Falcons and the Patriots. Both top-seeded teams lost in the conference semifinals.

The Pro Bowl returns to Hawaii this year, but it will be played on January 30.
