The fifteenth leading rusher in NFL history watched Sunday night’s Jets-Patriots game from he sideline, seeing what was probably his last chance for a Super Bowl ring go up in smoke.
Fred Taylor wound up being a non-factor for the Patriots this year. Once he was done battling through injuries, the Patriots didn’t need him on their active roster.
“I think at this point I’ve got a million things floating through my brain,” Taylor said via ESPNBoston.com. “It’s kind of hard to comprehend. None of it’s really clear.”
Taylor will go down as one of he most underrated running backs of his era, with a style that was always fun to watch. It sounds like he knows the end is here, but can’t quite admit it yet.
“I just have to take some time to be realistic. I kind of know what my body’s telling me, and what my family has been telling me,” Taylor explained. “But I also know that this is what I’ve been programmed to do the majority of my life.”
