Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey didn’t want to talk about his injury on Wednesday, but teammate Chris Kemoeatu did.

“We are definitely sad that he won’t be able to be with us in the Super Bowl,” said Kemoeatu after practice Wednesday via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Definitely I feel bad for him. We just have to win it for him.”

Wow. The Steelers are relatively open about injuries, but we wonder if they wanted this news out there already. We wouldn’t be surprised if coach Mike Tomlin makes the news a little less definitive than Kemoeatu did.

Doug Legursky will fill in for Pouncey at center, and it’s a huge drop-off in talent to him. The Steeler offensive line has struggled to identify blitzing players all year, and this isn’t going to help.
