In the effort to replace a stadium named for a former U.S. Vice President from Minnesota, the son of another former U.S. Vice President from Minnesota will be playing a key role.
Ted Mondale, the son of former Senator, V.P., and presidential candidate Walter Mondale, has become chairman of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, the body that owns the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome -- and that will have a strong say in the construction of the next generation pro football facility.
Mondale has said that he believes a deal for a new stadium can be reached in the current legislative session.
If not, the Vikings could be joining Minnesota’s former basketball team in Los Angeles.
