A California man and woman are accused of attempting to extort money from Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian after they found his Blackberry.
James Walsh of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that a civil lawsuit was unsealed in federal court on Thursday. The suit was filed on January 6, after Berrian received e-mails and phone calls asking if he lost the Blackberry. (He lost it back in October.)
The phone reportedly contains financial information and other sensitive material. Berrian’s attorney said in court documents that a man and woman demanded $30,000 to get the phone back or they would sell it to the “highest bidder.”
