Titans get permission to talk with Mularkey

After interviewing two in-house candidates for their vacant head coaching job, the Titans are expected to interview Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey for the job.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports the Titans have been given permission to speak with Mularkey.  The former Buffalo Bills head coach declined to talk with the Broncos this offseason, but interviewed for the Browns’ open position.

Mort doesn’t expressly say that Mularkey will interview in Tennessee, where Titans offensive line coach Mike Munchak is the favorite for the job.  MDS mentioned that Ray Sherman is not expected to interview for the gig despite previous reports.

  1. Would be a great hire. His work in revitalizing offenses in Pittsburgh and Atlanta speaks for itself. Blue collar no nonsense kind of guy.

  2. Good I hope they hire him! This guy is no Jeff Fisher. The Titans blow right now and will continue to for some tim eespecuially if they hire this clown. He’s a turd of monumental proportions. He sucked so badly in Buffalo that he gave up and quit, and as opposed to being a man and living up to it, he told the press he was quitting because his kids were getting picked on in school. The guy actually blamed his inability to perform as a head coach on his pussee kids….What a worm (and quitter!)

  3. whats your deal with Mularky sandiegobuffalo? Ive seen you bash him on a couple other articles. Its like you have a personal vendetta against him. What did he dump you or something? I pretty sure he’s the last coach to have a winning season in Buffalo. Probably quit because he realized how much the city of Buffalo and its football team suck

  4. Your correct that the team did and has sucked. (the city is great-I miss it) but yeah I dont like him-most people dont even remember him, but people need to be reminded that the guy is a quitter. You dont quit in life, especially when you are an NFL head coach…you lead. This guy showed his true colors. He got lucky in ATlanta, maybe he is average as an OC, but you need to look at his track record-garbage in BFLO and Miami and bottom line-The guy Quit. He went on to blame it on his kids being picked on! That is a worm move. The guy is a turd. Fisher was a good coach-Watch him go win a superbowl for another team.
