Lil Wayne records Super Bowl song and it’s actually pretty good

This is a post Florio and MDS would not write. It’s probably one many of you don’t want to read.

But when one of the best rappers alive records a late-night Super Bowl song and it’s surprisingly listenable, well, I’m going to mention it.

Weezy’s “Green & Yellow” is a direct answer to Pittsburgh-based Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” which was released in the Fall and almost went to No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

Considering there’s no chance Wayne actually wrote any of the song down beforehand, some of the lines are pretty good:

“Big Cheese on the helmet/Steel Curtain, what is that, velvet?/If we win, gonna throw a Super Bowl party/And blow a cigar like Vince Lombardi.”

Or . . .

“We knocked the Eagles and the Falcons and the Bears off/Now we’re about to cut Troy Polamalu’s hair off.”

Okay, if this post gets any longer they may not send me back to the Super Bowl again.
