New Panthers coach Ron Rivera is only one hire away from completing his first-year staff in Carolina.

According to Darin Gantt of Charlotte.com, Joe Kenn is the team’s new strength coach.

Kenn most recently worked at Ricky Proehl’s workout facility, and with Proehl joining the Panthers as an offensive consultant, the connection to Kenn makes sense. Once an assistant is hired for Kenn, Rivera’s staff will be complete.

In addition to Kenn and Proehl, here’s the current staff: Rob Chudzinski is the offensive coordinator, Sean McDermott is the defensive coordinator, Brian Murphy will coordinate the special teams, Warren Belin will coach linebackers, Ron Meeks remains as defensive backs coach, Eric Washington will coach the defensive line (assisted by Sam Mills, III, who also will perform the role of defensive quality control), Mike Shula will coach quarterbacks, Fred Graves will coach receivers, John Matsko will handle the offensive line (assisted by Ray Brown), Pete Hoener has the tight ends, and John Settle will coach the running backs, Scott Turner performs the role of offensive quality control.
