Kevin Kolb hopes Cardinals take a look at him

A report surfaced before the Super Bowl that Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald gave the team’s front office some advice about the quarterback position in Arizona, and suggested Kevin Kolb as a possible target.

Kolb was flattered by the attention.

“I mean, if he’s not the best, he’s one of the best receivers in the NFL, superstar,” Kolb said on WIP with Howard Eskin this week via Sheil Kapadia of Philly.com. “For a guy like that to say something about me, it means a lot. And it’s awfully flattering, and I hope that if something happens, their name comes up.”

Kolb went on to repeat his stance that he wants to be starting elsewhere next year. It sounds like the Eagles haven’t told him one way or another what they will do with him.

Anything is possible, but a long delay in a CBA agreement will make it less likely Kolb will get his wish to leave.

“I truly believe that they’re going to try and do what’s best for myself and the team, and if that doesn’t work out, I obviously won’t be happy about it,” Kolb said. “But in my opinion, it won’t be their fault if it doesn’t work out. I think it’ll be because of the CBA not getting done.”
