The youth movement in Tampa still hasn’t claimed its most tenured veteran. Cornerback Ronde Barber has agreed to terms on a one-year deal to remain with the Buccaneers.

The team has announced that Barber will be back; the news was first reported by Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com.

Barber, who joined the Bucs way back in 1997, was due to become a free agent on March 4, or whenever free agency begins this year.

Terms of the new deal aren’t yet known. Barber earned a base salary of $3 million in 2010. He has started every game of every season since 2000, and he started 15 of 16 games in 1999.

Barber, who turns 36 on April 7, also has outlasted his identical twin brother, Tiki, by four seasons and counting.
