A property in Lakeland, Florida, owned by Bears tight end Desmond Clark has been seized by police because drug dealers and prostitutes were regular guests, according to a local television station.

Bay News 9 quotes a local police officer as saying that the rental property owned by Clark and his brother has been a constant source of trouble in the community.

This has been a thorn in our side, I want to say, for at least, the very least, four years,” said Officer Adrian Rodriguez.

Neither Clark nor his brother responded to requests for comment from Bay News 9, but Rodriguez said he had talked to Clark about it and that Clark acknowledged his property was a problem.

“He agreed with me. ‘It’s a problem. Absolutely. We must act,’” Rodriguez said of a phone conversation he had with Clark.

The property is currently boarded up as part of the city’s nuisance abatement program, but Clark did not forfeit the property and will be able to rent it out again at a later date.
