LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson may be the prospect in this year’s draft class with the fewest amount of flaws.
There is no consensus about the top pick of he draft. Folks don’t even agree who is the best defensive end, defensive tackle, or quarterback. The one guy everyone seems to love is Peterson. He looks to be as safe a future Pro Bowler as you can find in this draft.
Even though Peterson has plenty of straight-line speed, NFL Network’s Mike Mayock said he could wind up being an All-Pro safety in the end. To this point, NFL teams aren’t thinking about moving him.
“They haven’t come to me about changing positions to safety, but if it happens, then I’ll just have to live with it,” Peterson said.
He added that he would be happy to change positions if that’s what a team wanted, but made it clear he seems himself as a safety.
No matter where he plays, Peterson has a great chance to be the first defensive back since Shawn Springs (1997) to be taken in he first three overall picks.
